Because the Ergodox comes wiuth the ability to mount the switches ad  1 unit keys instead of 1.5, there should be no urgent need to add expensive 1.5 units keys of things like ?/ {[ and }].

I will make an ERGOMOD/RED kit that contains these keys:
vertical 2 units:
SHIFT
DEL
BACK,SPACE
FN or FUN
ENTER

vertical 1.5 units keys:
FN
FN

maybe something else?

I will add a kit with 1.5 units square, triangle, circle and diamond keys, that might be useful.

Any chance of a vertical 2u Alt in that kit?  Yes, I'm a weirdo.   :-[

We've already got lots of options for Shift as a single key.  Maybe swap the Shift with Alt?

Is the vertical Enter you referenced earlier the one from the numpad operators kits?

I've been trying to find an answer for this without having much luck. Since ErgoDox kits are a niche kit for an already niche product, they aren't exactly a huge volume seller. What happens if we build a complete set around one of these kits and the kit doesn't reach MOQ? Are we able to back out? Or are we committed to buying an incomplete set?

This worries me because Pulse, which is fairly popular, has fewer than 13 Halfadox kits committed with only the one color choice. If there's a MOQ on the ErgoDox sets in Round 5a, I'm not sure there's going to be enough demand since it looks like there are going to be legended/non-legended choices spread out among 6 different color choices.
The blank Ergo kits are no problem, as they require only 2 or 3 orders of each color to reach the 25 keys MOQ.

The Ergo keys with legends on them (ie the vertical keys, except for ENTER) are only useful on trhe ErgoDox, so might not reach the MOQ in every color.

However, I will not lock down HONEYB orders right now, so you can always take something else if your color-scheme will not work out, or get a refund.

Yes, ENTER is from the numpad.
I can also offer a vertical +.

I added ALT for now.

Don't expect such a kit to be cheap.

Oh, it's 25 keys? That changes everything; my interpretation of what's on the wiki was that 25 full kits was the MOQ. Going to put in an order then. :) Thanks!

7bit has extended the 25% Autumn rebate until 37th September!  So you still have until, er, next Tuesday to take advantage of the offer.

Some new kits have been made available since the original array of kits was posted.  The triangle cursors are back, and a function kit is in development.

Both are orderable in all six mod/function colours - Round 5 grey, white, black and red; Round 4 SPH blue and Round 5a violett.

I have been seriously out of touch with this GB. Can someone enlighten me please on the status? Why do I still see orders being taken, discount given, etc? I thought it's already in production? This must be the longest GB evar!
Key caps are indeed still in production. SP is not that fast and it seems they stop production whenever there is a new small group buy started.
It is like a freight train that has to stop and wait for every other train.

So has it been over a year and nothing has shipped still?

Your going to want to go here http://deskthority.net/group-buys-f50/doubleshot-replacements-round-5-honey-sphericals-t6732.html to learn all about it.
But beware!!!!! Be prepared to wait for a long long time to get them, this GB is not for the faint-hearted  But if you are strong in the force the reward is great  :thumb: 7bit is a master of complex GB's

Is it okay to message mashby in this instance? Or should I still be talking to 7bit?

For the round 5a buy, do I have to pay the full amount right away? Or can I wait to see what the final price will be before sending payment?

AFAIK you gotta pay within 7 days. Rolling deadline though so it's up to you to risk it. :)

As far as I know all prices are final, there is no partial refund option for the bot. If it's not mentioned on the wiki page it does not exist.

I think any partial refund would be automatic through paypal.
There would be no bot commands or anything.
So for now yes, you pay the whole price.

I would wait for  7bit's reply before you pay.  My take on this is that a)  the prices might still come down a bit and b) it makes sense to pay right now because AFAIK you still get the 25% rebate at the moment,  but only if you pay soon. And c) you can still always delete or change items from your order and get a refund as long as 7bit hasn't locked the orders,  which he does just before preparing the actual order to SP.

7bit's earlier GB's (R3 & R4) where in the same timeline and EVERYONE eventually got their orders  :thumb: .  Hence this GB is ONLY for the mature and patient, if you can't wait that long then stick with PMK  ;) .

The thing is, my taste has changed since this GB. When it started I have only a Code and Poker. Over the year, I have since acquired a RealForce and a HHKB and sold the Poker. And some key sets came eg Penumbra. And then lots of artisan caps. I've even forgotten how Honey is suppose to fit into my keyboard scheme (which has changed with times). If I could stick with PMK, I just might but I can't refund, right? I've already considered this as a write off but I'm just amaze how supportive people have been. I'm not doubting 7bit's ability to deliver. Just finding it ridiculous that his Gb took so damn long and no end in sight!

With all of 7bit's Group Buys it is ONLY for the HARD CORE fanatics.  We are the ones that can wait for the Canadian Glacial Mountains to melt their way into the North Atlantic hence we are extremely patient.  Only because 7bit has delivered in the past that is why he has earned our trust.

If this was some newbie running his FIRST Group Buy then everyone has a right to get worried and suspicious.

In the end 7bit will deliver on his R5 simply because he has never failed to deliver on all his previous GB's  8) .

Yeah. With Penumbra, they keys are made. Just need time to sort.
(Disclosure: I've already received Penumbra months ago!)

With 7bit's Round 5, the keys are not even made after a year!

To be fair, this was mostly Signature Plastic's fault.
Really? You really think so? All other GB - Penumbra, Bro set, Galaxy set, etc etc etc are all by Signature Plastics too.

I suppose they would love to produce for 7bit because hey, he has TONS of orders right, compare to these smaller GBs. I am not buying it. But anyway, we should take this discussion over to Honey thread and not in this thread.

According to what 7bit has posted on DT, SP would stop production on R5 and do all the other smaller group buys in between.

Hi 7bit,

I'm sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news but I don't expect us to
complete Round 5 until the end of January. We still have approximately 25%
(300 of 1200 items) left to produce. Unfortunately we have had other
requirements on this tooling and have had to continually interrupt your
order.
Right now January's production schedule has no SA requirements so we
will be able to run uninterrupted through the month. Again, I apologize for
the ongoing delays.

Bob

If I ever order anything again, I want a fixed delivery date!

BTW: What he wants to tell us: If no mini-SA-family group buy starts right now, we might be lucky to get them by end of January (ie mid-February).

Wow. Now I am kicking myself for not getting a set of red mods. That red color is SO much better than I was expecting.
I thought they would be brighter red.

I thought so too, which is why I didn't buy them. I like this color so much better.

I was hoping for a brighter red, hrm. I'll wait until I see them in person though.

Haha, well there might be a bit of an aftermarket then for me to pick up some red mods.  :)  Sorry they are not what you were hoping for.  :/

Me too, and 7bit just confirmed that they are a brighter red in fact. He's got some grab bags already with Round 5 stuff. It's just a badly balanced iPhone photo.

Like the GH60 buy, I had just assumed a box would arrive in the distant future. :)
