Pokemon thread
« on: Wed, 14 August 2013, 20:07:34 »
It seems there is a decent amount of us that like pokemon.

So let's have a thread about those graceful monsters.

My favourite one is (to no surprise) Togekiss. OP flying / normal :P

I don't know many of the new ones, even though I played all the games :)

What about you guys?

My two favourite Pokemon are Bellsprout and Stunfisk.

I was super excited for X/Y until they announced mega evolutions.  Now I'm skeptical, but I'll still play it of course.

My favorite has always been Cubone/Marowak. Because the idea of a pokemon with a story has always drawn me.

Yeah, that thing is weird. Well, at least we can see a Khangaskan baby outside the purse :P

I like that too. Of the old ones my favourte was Tauros. I liked the idea of an angry bull.

The baby is pretty cute.  I'm afraid of what Mega Khangaskan could do to competitive battling though.  I am not looking forward to getting earthquaked twice every turn.  But I guess it will all depend on its stats.

I was trying to be old school and pretend that there were only the first gens.  I don't really like them all.  But I do genuinely only know the first ones.  Got wayyyy too confusing really quick after that.

Stopped playing since diamond. I felt like I beat red blue gold silver crystal enough. Game was getting kinda old... Then a remake? Anime sucked. They developed characters so well then dropping them like fly's.

I prefer tokepi to tokekiss. Cuter. Aren't they psychic?

Naw, it's basically an RPG with no story or character development for people with obsessive compulsive disorder and a fear of change.

Probably something about needing to complete the collection of pokemon (OCD) and every game being essentially the same.  Not that I agree with the sentiments.

Same here.  Going to buy a 3DS just for the game!

I wish trading can be done via WiFi or can it? So I don't have to buy 2 3DS and X and Y to COLLECT 'EM ALL!

IIRC it can. I am more of a emulator guy, since all I ever play on the GB/DS range is Pokemon

I remember when I first ran into the grass and encountered a Chansey right away. I was curious as to how much health it actually had, so I proceeded to hammer on it. Impressive. But i regret knocking out, because I couldn't find one for the longest time after that...

Yes, you can use an emulator to play the GB ones.

Just goole 'pokemon rom' and you'll find the games :)

evolyn, for older games use VBA and for the newer (DS) games user Desmume.

I have never owned a nintendo hand held, but played every Pokemon multiple times, albeit I do miss some of the IRL action , trading and battling, but my friends were always accommodating, so not a big deal. And now there are multiple options for online competitive battling even for the PC.
