    More
    7/16/21:
    - Adjusted prices

    6/20/21:
    - GB date announced! 9/6 to 10/6
    - First 3D render unveiled
    - Chinese pricing in
    - Thread formatting updates

    6/20/21:
    - US pricing and MOQs!
    - 3D renders in progress!
    - Final kitting for R1 decided!

    2/24/21:
    - Changed R2 1.5u "Delete" to "Backspace" in Base Kit
    - Moved extra B keys into Base & Dark Alphas rather than being in the Spacebars Kit
    - Added extra tab to Dark Alphas to potentially provide coverage for another board alongside the Base
    - Moved 6.25u accent from Base to Spacebars (sorry to those who appreciated this in the Base, have to make room for basic ISO)
    - Moved R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn, F13 from Extension to Base
    - Removed ' " key from Extension (not sure why that was there in the first place...)
    - Added R4 "Send" key to Extension
    - Added R1 blue pipe key to Symbol Row for better split backspace support
    - Updated some novelties to fit GMK tolerances
    - Added barred 5s to numpad

    - Moved basic ISO back into Base Kit.
    * This includes the basic ISO enter, R4 <> key, 1.25u shift and R3 pipe key
    * Also included a dark option for the R4 <> key and R3 pipe key in Dark Alphas
    * The remaining UK alpha keys have been moved to Norde (now NorDeUK), along with the Alt Gr keys, and the accent ISO enter

    12/31/20:
The kits as of this update are going off to GMK for pricing. Time to finally get Electric to GB! Things are still subject to minor modification if you notice something wrong.
    Spacebars kit:
    - Added a 2.75uC and 2.25uC key
    - Moved 1.25uC from extension kit
    - Added 2x blue 1uC
    - Added a second 3uC

    Extension kit:
    - Added 2u resistor novelty
    - Added F13 key
    - Moved 1.25uC to spacebars kit
    - Fixed some legends (thanks Oblotzky for pointing out the 1.75 backspace needing an arrow)
    * Decided to ommit the 1.75u Lock key
    * Decided to keep the two 1.75uC keys for JD40/45 users
    * Decided to keep the 2.25u shift even though it isn't necessarily used by many layouts.
660 style boards should have compatibility too.

    International changes:
    - Readded the » « key to Norde for Portuguese users
    - Removed duplicate keys from Norde that were already in the ISO kit
    * Decided dark alpha compatibility will not be offered for special ISO keys. no way this would hit MoQ.

    Other:
    - Added 1.25u Fn to base kit
    - Added backspace resistor novelty to symbol row
    * If you want split backspace support you'll need the novelties kit as well, it has 1u R1 novelties for AC and DC power which will match the symbol row
    - Added dark alphas to the numpad kit by default
    * This was a hard decision because I don't want to increase cost for those who have no interest in dark alphas. But, that is a preferable alternative in my eyes to including the numpad by default in the dark alphas.

    11/17/20:
    - New kit and board renders (by me)
    - Thread formatting update
    - USA, EU and CA vendors listed
    - New pictures of the deskmat sample
    - Base kit is now numpadless and ISO-less
        - Numpad has been moved to the numpad kit, changed numpad style to single legends
        - ISO has been moved to the ISO kit
    - Added dark alphas kit
    - Split novelties into "Symbol row" and "Novelties"
        - Replaced GND symbol with a NAND symbol (thank you to those that suggested adding this)
        - Fixed novelty enters being 2u instead of 2.25
        - Removed "geekhack" and "/r/mk" from novelties to reduce cost
    - Spacebar kit now includes a 3C key, an extra 2C key, and extra Bs. Removed non-accent 6u spacebars.
    - Extension now only supports accent (electric blue) enter keys
        - Reason: with the addition of the dark alphas, it would have been prohibitely expensive to include both gray and dark gray variants of all spacebars, so I see no reason in including the non-accent enters either.
    - Norde kit has been updated to the latest version of GMK WOB & BOW's NordeUK+ kit
        - Supports British, Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Faroese, Danish, Deutsch, and Portuguese layouts. I also included an Ñ key for Spanish layouts :)
        - I ommitted the » « key  as I couldn't find what layout it is a part of, if you know please let me know :)
        - Alt Gr and ISO enter keys are now a part of the ISO kit

    10/19/20:
    - Added finalized desk mat design
    - Put pictures of desk mat samples

    6/20/20:
    - Added new deskmat design!

    5/10/20:
    - Removed duplicate R1 `¬¦ key from Norde
    - Removed R4 > < key from Norde (now in base kit)
    - Added R3 "~ #" key to the base kit to support ISO UK users properly
    - Added 2 1u R2, 2 1u R3 novelties to novelties kit for 65% users
    - Added 1.25u and 1.5u "ground symbol" novelties to novelties kit
    - Removed some other novelties from novelties kit to lower cost (might have to do this again...)
    - Tried making another ISO enter novelty
    - Made alternate versions of the desk mat

    4/28/20:
    - Removed duplicate Alt Gr keys from norde
    - Change duplicate | \ key to > < for ISO users
    - Made ISO enter novelty tests

    4/26/20:
    - Legend change: "Lock" to "Scroll", "Num Lock" to "Num", stepped caps lock to "Caps"
    - Renamed 40 kit to Extension kit
    - Added R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn, 1.75u Backspace to Extension kit
    - Finished desk mat design!

    4/22/20:
    - Moved 6.25u blue spacebar to base kit
    - Added base color 6u spacebars to spacebar kit
    - Upgraded Colevrak to Colevrak+
    - Added 1.25u and 1.5u "Alt Gr" keys to Norde
    - Added R4 1.5u and 1u novelties to novelties kit

    4/16/20:
    - Updated all kits from 2018 (sorry not listing all the changes here :) )

    3/14/20:
    - Revived the set!

    Thanks to ~

Is the row 4 1u Fn missing or is it intended that we use the novelties for that?

Edit: maybe one of those row 4 'end' was supposed to be fn?

Good point. I'll replace two of the novelties with 1u Fn's.

I'm not really asking that it be changed, just wondering if that's what those 1u novelties were for.

Looks like the GMK Sky Dolch, but with novelties.

    Interested in GMK Hana.

Edit: I know it would make it seem even more like the Sky Dolch, but the legends not being blue/cyan as well makes it seem less "Electric" to me.

Yes, that was the intention, but I still think it would be better to just have 1 of each novelty for those who don't want to use them.

Meh. I love black legends, they make the set a bit different (in the best way).

Also: people are really crazy about colorway and copying, and this is far enough off that I don't see a big issue. We all have to calm down about colorway, there are only so many ways to put together the same colors.

Yeah, it is kind of disappointing that this colorway isn't as unique anymore with Lightcycle and Sky Dolch around. I'm up to suggestions for new color changes though!

Yeah, it's fine that's why I suggested it to be more cyan, but whatever works for the designer. I guess you could always mix the two sets.

Tbh, even though I never decided to do it, I've thought about "Tron: Legacy" the movie colors. Maybe some darker blacks on this set?

I think this looks way better than Sky Dolch, that set never really appealed to me personally and the black legends add to the contrast here which makes it look quite unique despite the modifiers - I'd like to see the original colours be kept but I understand if you want to veer from the SD/Lightcycle similarities.

PS: can confirm GMK Hana would be more than welcome.

Is that a framed set of Hana? What are the caps mounted on?

    Totally agree about the contrast.

Great taste in selecting the colors for the set and sensible choices for layouts covered.

My budget is basically empty for the year; but, I would make an exception if this reaches MoQ for sure.

Indeed. It was an artisan frame I got off of Massdrop, I wasn't sure how gimmicky it was so I only bought one but if they come around again I'll definitely get a few more - they look and feel very nice, the mounts are just plastic (3D printed) MX stems with velcro or a velcro-like material which the bottom of the frame is also covered with.

I like your framed Hana, lol. Looks good.

Haha thanks, it's a little crooked because it takes forever to adjust the plastic stems properly but it does pay off in my opinion, I'm happy with the way it looks and Hana is surely deserving of it.

Just an optimization suggestion, most key sets don't include the mod colored |\ key anymore. I can only speak for myself but the way I see it people who go for symmetry only use the mod colored `~ key and those who go for key function accuracy use the alpha color for both |\ and `~.

The key I think is not needed is circled below:

    Just something to think about.

Hope this doesn't mean SA is a dead dream! I can see why you wouldn't want to run it with the current queue, so hopefully should things change and it be shorter :)

Perhaps Novelties can add on light grey for more options

Great taste in selecting the colors for the set and sensible choices for layouts covered.

My budget is basically empty for the year; but, I would make an exception if this reaches MoQ for sure.

Thanks! I'm going to try messing with some stuff and see if it looks better as well.

It's not dead, just asleep for now. Maybe SP will make some more SA tooling  :D

Good suggestion, I'll do that and see if anyone complains.

I was originally lurking on discussions around the SA set, but seeing this/thinking about it more, I really like the idea of this running as a GMK set  :thumb: I agree with other comments that color-wise this is quite Sky Dolch-esque (at least for the mods), but the grey/black alphas and novelties do make it a very distinct set IMO.

Question: Is UN6037 the same as TU2?

Could you consider to add ergo kit for this theme? By the way, I think the Gmk hana may be more welcome than this one ;)

I lurked that thread too hoping that it would become a reality, but I think this set might actually work out better being GMK  :D

This looks really good. What does it look like if the modifiers and accent keys have the same colors on their legends?

Said it on Reddit but will say it here too. Icon mods seem right for electric. Really hits home with a schematic or board layout. Hope to see an icon mod set, just like Yuri (controls alts and the whole lot of them), if text Mods are final for base kit.

In response to a suggestion, I made a child deal for Hatsune Miku. Turns out I had most of the colors already, lol. Thoughts?

The set is great; but the only key that could make this set impossible to pass for me is an R3 `~ key to cover a modern ANSI XT layout with an ISO Enter. I know it is a very special key, but being just one it could be fitted with very low impact on the cost for the set. I know there are some users that may take advantage of such layout.

Haha. I meant the same color as alphanumerics. Like a dark legend version of Dolch, but with accent keys. Not a big fan of mixing different legend colors. Makes it hard to read.

Wouldn't that make the modifiers blanks?

May I propose to tweak the alpha legends with N9, a bit more concordant.

Anyway, I love the SA Electric and this GMK.

    Doesn't look like it:

    Current color scheme is:
    UN6037 (Electric blue)
    CR (Black legends)
    2B (Light gray alphas)
    N9 (Dark gray modifiers)
    WS1 (White legends)

Would be awesome to see what it would look like:

    Alphas: 2B
    Modifiers: N9
    Legends: CR (including cyan keys)

Really hope this set doesn't end up with icon modifiers.

Also think it would be better if the side print on pause and print screen wasn't cyan (UN6037) like the top print. Maybe CR and 2B, similar to how Classic Beige has different shades. Would spice things up.

It would look like this with almost no contrast:

If someone wants to run a GMK stealth set, then I'm all for it, but I wouldn't have any interest at all in a low contrast modifiers with teal accents. The modifiers would be invisible while the alphas wouldn't. Just doesn't seem very electric to me and doesn't work with my aesthetics. I'd much prefer low contrast alphas and high contrast mods.

Either way what you are suggesting isn't a minor change, it's a fundamentally different set.

You may be right about the low contrast, but I was curious to see what it would look like in renders. I think the cyan/white combination has the same issue you mention. Keys with that combination become unreadable in this set if they also have a small font, like Enter. The side print on pause and print screen definitely shouldn't be cyan. It defeats the purpose to have the same color if you want to use cyan legends on modifiers to make this set pop with color contrast. By placing two equally visually heavy texts right next to each other, they both dissapear. Having them black or light gray would highlight the legend text.

The white on cyan part is the one part I don't like. I mentioned it on the Reddit IC, so I never bothered to say it here. It's eye melting and doesn't fit the rest. I also agree the split colors on the side print keys would look nice, just don't forget those would be partially printed not 100% double shot. Doesn't really matter for side print of course. But something to consider.

Also, part of the issue is just that cyan is an extremely vibrant color on displays. Don't forget there are lots of white on cyan keys for things like cymk or the gmk cyan set that aren't nearly so vibrant and eye melting. Part of the issue is just that it IS a render/mockup. I feel like this is a set that would likely look more pleasant in real life than any render.
