IBM 1392595, Model M "Display Station" terminal keyboard, just a 1998 one from the Scotland factory, with a non-destructive internal Soarer Converter and a few replacement keytops. Go Gators.

Wow did not know about those model m numpad legends those are pretty cool. Gotta find myself a model m (but they are really overpriced in aus on like ebay cause there are not as common) cause I tried one at a meetup and it was really nice.

cherry blacks - unlubed - filmed and springswapped with tx 55g mediums - alu Plate | pretty happy with this, the blacks were cherry picked so they weren't that scratchy to begin with, but currently breaking them in, may lube them with a dry lube like ro59 or ptfe powder.

gateron yellows - lubed with 205g0 - 62g tx mediums - pc plate | probably my favourite keyboard already, feels super nice and sounds pretty good, it's got a great layout as well. probably gonna build this with mx browns, I feel like it would suit the board more.

stock with silent reds | Pretty cool looking board, the silent reds are actually good, they are smooth and I don't mind the mushiness (it's not even that mushy as well). the layout is pretty weird, but is useable. will probably mod this in the future. maybe a pcb and plate swap, change the keycaps to something dolch like, and also spring swap the springs in the silent reds.

Built with new nixies on pc half plate. Love this board already, probably the best looking board I own, those brass accents are so mint. Really like it as is, but I do want to try an alu build (probably with nixies as well) just to experiment with that.

Might be worth looking into a re-shipper, either formal or somebody you know in the states.  That terminal one required some cleanup and a converter, and obviously a few keytops were missing, but I got it shipped inside the US for under USD35.  I also got a PS/2 GE Medical keyboard, a very clean Unicomp from 2014, for less than USD45 shipped.  A lot of that value goes out the window for you, sadly, but slow USPS shipping might still be reasonably economical.

Pristine mainline Model M's are pretty pricy everywhere, though, with Unicomp setting the floor.

Yeah I probably will soon, it's just that I wanted to find one in aus because of quicker shipping times but it seems buying from the us might be the play.

I could also proxy a unicomp buckling spring board, I was looking at this split backspace one a while ago but shipping made me nope out but I might as well convert a AT model f and it would look a lot nicer.

Finally built my Matrix 8XV3.0 & man is it a nice board! I decided against using the weird alum skeleton plate it came with & got a full PP plate for it from Hype Keyboards. Which ended up pairing super nicely with the Gateron Deeppings I used, it definitely surpassed my expectations which were fairly high given the price of the board. The whole build is as follows, solder PCB, aftermarket full PP plate, hand lubed Gateron Deeppings, TX AP screw in stabs lubed with 205g0, plate gasket mounted, topped off with JTK Griseann.

For now I'm using a Varmilo VEM88 V2 with EC Rose switches.
So far it's the best keyboard I've had.
Very basic, but very good for me. I enjoy using it.
I'm using it just as it was from the store, but I'm looking at getting some custom keycaps. Not many to find for nordic ISO layout..

Oooh this is very cool. Those skeleton plates suck pretty hard so yeah right decision to go for an aftermarket plate. I really like "the mainline" tkls because to me, they strike a good balance between being standard keyboards and being "matrix keyboards" in that over the top sense like that alice that was ridiculous lol. Still prefer the 1.2/og but can't go wrong with this.

1391406. Rotated out the M13 to put in the "strip and clean" pile with the Model F AT, AT102W. Cherry G80 is likely up next. It's not as loud as a buckling spring, give the other half's ears a break.

Yep, I took one look at that monstrosity of a plate & was like "nope, nope, nope...". Also the PP plate really surprised me as to how much I like the feel & sound with it! I do agree with your take on Matrix's mainline TKLs. I've always prefered their more clean & subtle look vs Matrix's usual loud & in your face designs so the 3.0 was a no brainer to finally add a Matrix board to my collection. Don't get me wrong I do think a lot of Matrix's wild designs are very cool, but most of them are just too busy for my tastes.

I remember being fond of the typing experience back when I would occasionally use one, but as somebody mentioned in another thread, the A1048's tended to get nasty over time if you're not religious about keeping them clean.  They are membrane technology, so nothing "special" in that sense, but the secret of this hobby is that if you like it and it keeps working, it's a good keyboard.  In the US, clean ones on eBay tend to go for about $20-$30 shipped, plus any tax.

DIY "Hybrid-wired" no-stabs FRL 1800.  Matrix is a PCB, but that PCB is hand wired to the MCU, which also serves as the daughterboard.  3D printed case is loosely based on old beamspring boards and the M0110/HHKB. Akko SA-L and Box Navy.

Litton Systems, Keyboard With Housing, KB-1. Circa 1997 or a little later.

Actually an Alphameric/Devlin sealed capacitive rubber dome inside a powder-coated sheet-steel case.   Mushy bottom out, but true NKRO, 3 pounds, and looks cool AF.

My latest Group Buy, the Neson 810e showed up 3-6 months later than expected.   Luckily I have an inventory of other boards to keep me distracted.  In fact, I think I purchased 6 boards since initially ordering this one.  FRL exploded space bar.  Drop DCX Solarized dark.  Gateron Mini switches.   One more board on order, and I'm done.

What a coincidence!  I too am using the Razer BlackWidow V3 mechanical keyboard. The Yellow switches do offer a smooth, responsive typing and gaming experience. The key feedback really is precise, and the RGB backlighting adds an undeniably cool touch. It’s truly perfect for both gaming and everyday use!  :p

Actually, I've just rotated my retro TKL variant back into service.  Handwired RP2040 running KMK, aluminum plates, red oak sandwich sides, Box Navy, VSA overstock keycaps from Aliexpress (except for DSA on the F row).

Currently using the Cycle 7, although im look ing to switch it out soon but with no budget its been hard. I really do want to try and get the Neo Ergo because of the build quality and how cool it looks. Hopefully one day i can get it when my budget isnt abysmal
