The show didn't meet my memories from having read the book (10+ years ago) so I started re-reading it.
The book's chapters are very short. At ~100 pages in it is already past the timeline of the first five episodes of the TV show but there are still a lot of differences in the show from the book, not just extrapolations.
I'm a bit sad, personally, that a few details unimportant to the plot from the book (things I had remembered) weren't in the TV series though, but I suppose those could be different for everybody.

Overall I really like the show so far, but it is more drama and less philosophy. I think Asimov's style might appear a bit dated today so I don't mind some modernisation: What's important is that the major themes will have come across at the end. So, I'll also reserve final judgement until the first season has concluded.

Nintendo's marketing strategy of making its products scarce worked on me. I went to Wal-mart to buy a few groceries and saw six white Switch OLED models that had been put on the shelf a mere hour before according to the employee who opened the case for me. Considering myself lucky to have found any, I purchased one and a copy of Metroid Dread. So far I am enjoying them. I got one for a friend who had been looking for one also, so double score.

I don't have an original Switch for comparison, but the OLED screen looks very nice - deep blacks and good contrast. Metroid actually looks better on the Switch screen than it does on my computer monitor.

Edit: It looks good on my monitor after changing a display setting on the Switch.
Keyboards / Re: Looking for next keyboard, possibly a build

I may go that route since my current Corsair treated me well. I have no issues typing, and not really looking to get into the world of keyboard modding/building as I'm not a keyboard/typing enthusiast. K70 is on sale now for $110, and its a newer version that what I have.

If you aren't really looking to get into the custom keyboard hobby and just want something built for you either go with the GMMK Pro or just a store bought one that you like for around $120-150. A GMMK Pro will definitely sound better and feel better, especially if you are looking for tactile switches and care to pay for their lubed Glorious Pandas, or Glorious Lynxes if you are looking for linear. But they are also way more expensive than getting other tactile switches that are better and popping them in. But the keycaps on the GMMK Pro if you get the PBT Premium ones then those will also feel and sound better. If you want some recommendations for linear and tactile here are a few in-stock ones that I would recommend.

The switch thing is only if you plan to get the GMMK Pro. I really don't recommend their "glorious" switches as they are so expensive and they aren't any better than any of the ones I just listed.
I don't think I need all of the bells and whistles that custom keyboards seem to offer, as I likely would not even realize the bells and whistles. I use my keyboard for 8 hours of the day for work, and then whenever I am on my computer for programming, occasional gaming, and surfing youtube etc. My current Corsair K70 with MX browns I think is plenty.. specifically how the keys sound, how they feel when pressed, are things that I don't think spending $250-$300 on is worth.

..if you're looking for keyboard or switch options or opinions there's no point bringing back a thread from even a couple of months ago as the info will be out of date.

Yes, technical matters can change fairly quickly and there is no point in creating needless confusion.  What I am looking at is more experience-related than technical and I am hoping others will share the benefit of their experience without my having the learn things the way I usually do (i.e. The Hard Way).

The impression I am under is that this is one of those things that can be done, it is simply that the people who run the board want posters to think about what they are doing before they do it.

Speaking of which, I think I now understand why this wasn't mentioned in the forum rules: because, in relative terms, it is not that big of a deal.   :)

Hi, any news on adding Adelie to QMK Configurator? It's a lovely board and I just got Dracula, I'm hoping I can use them together soon!

I think that if the thread is not closed you can post to it. There is a warning that says something like "there has not been a post here for half a year" or something to that effect.

Ah, yes, here we are:

After reading your post (and seeing the above) I think I have a better idea of how this works.  Thank you for the reply.

It's here!!! Took less than a day after it got shipped from US to get here in Toronto. I did 3 quick runs of 10fastfingers and am already above my speed on my Browns, mostly because I'm not hitting the wrong key all the time. The keys do an excellent job of keeping the noise down. The keys feel a bit heavy and need a bit more force to actuate, but I don't mind them at all. Haven't yet noticed typing fatigue. I think they should feel better better after I get used to them more.
