Pre-made Teensy keyboard converters?
« on: Sat, 08 June 2013, 13:08:58 »
Why hasn't some entrepreneurial soul started such a service?  Personally, I don't feel like making one for the same reason I don't make my own bread, but I'd buy one if I knew where they were sold pre-built.

Huh?  You buy teensy's at pjrc.com.   What do you _really_ mean?

What, and the ones they sell are ready to work as adapters for various keyboards right out of the box?

A teensy is just an atmega breakout.  It's a finished product with a trademarked name.  If you are looking for a Soarer XT converter or one of the other converters as a pre-made package (which technically does not require using a teensy as a base) then no... nobody is doing that yet.

I would think most members here are familiar with what I'm alluding to when I invoke the words Teensy keyboard adapter(ie. Soarers converter), but I'm curious as to why no one has started such a service selling them pre-built. Seems like it would be profitable. I mean, I'd definitely buy one, and I tend to think a lot of other keyboard enthusiasts would, too.

Yes, now that you've actually said so I know that's what you're talking about.

Hagstrom sells an XT adapter that works well(I bought one), but it costs $49.95 and isn't programmable.
