TOO BAD FOR YOU
Well, now that I'm looking into switch modding, this has my attention..too late.Anybody got an extra set they'd be willing to sell me at cost? Thanks, guys.
why does my samurai sound like Japanese Batman?
Got mine on Monday. One of the tool is not well-cut and it's a little bit longer than the other one.Show ImageI cut it myself. Wash the edge with detergent and now it's prefect! Thanks The_BeastShow ImageShow ImageShow ImageShow Imagehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b3n979B6JM&feature=youtu.be
This demo is just for illustrating how it works. In practical, you can use this tool to open a mx switch on a plate mount keyboard without desoldering the switch.

It works on PCB mount just fine however!

The ends of the tool slip out of the switch before enough pressure can even be applied.

The ends of the tool slip out of the switch before enough pressure can even be applied.I had the same problem with mine. You need to make sure they are being pushed all the way down. If they're not, they'll pop out. If they're popping out with the tool pushed all the way down, the angles on the tool might have been done wrong or the tips might be too wide still. You can see if you can fix it or someone can fix it for you. Maybe The_Beast will take a look at it and make sure it's made right.I went back to my binder clip switch tool since I found it was more consistent. Limmy has a good guide of what one should look like when finished and a general idea of how to make it. Both are good tools when you get a good one.
