Absolutely. This is a HUGE knock to community confidence in member-run group buys, no doubt.

It's also a huge betrayal on a personal level, having helped Ivan sort group buys twice.

This, the growing sentiment of not being able to trust members on here is exactly why I decided to go with MassDrop for my GB. MassDrop, PMK provide a safer alternative than individuals but the cost we are having to pay is much too large; trusted members like WFD and Ivan bailing out is really hurting the community.

I really hope this is false and there is a reasonable explanation from Ivan.

wow. Et tu, Brute? this does seem like the final damning piece of evidence against Ivan. I held out against all hope, but this really looks bad.

If this is really true, and Ivan boged out with everyone's money, it seems like the community needs to get together and come up with a solution for this problem. These group buys should not be "cash deals" where one guy is responsible for all that money. It't too liquid, and clearly the temptation to dip into the honey pot (or just abscond with the whole damn thing) is too real for this to go on.

I suggest a kickstarter for a company whose sole purpose is to interface between the cap makers and the GB organizers. this company should also hold the money in escrow, and keep tabs on the process. GB organizers should be vetted, and there should be some milestone agreements for every group buy. It is still hard to believe we have been so loose with these transactions which can reach 6-digit dollar figures.

I truly hope this will spark some conversation on the issue. There is just too much exposure to risk by all parties

What potential reasonable explanation could there be though? Unless he's dead or in jail I don't foresee many explanations being accepted at the moment.

A few months ago I asked for a refund in a gb when we were getting a little too close to the 6 month PayPal cutoff with not much progress. Felt like a d***, but couldn't risk the loss. Probably going to take this approach from now on.

If I were trolling I would have faked a production and packaging completed with a freight pickup scheduled for Thursday e-mail. Getting hopes up and then watching them get crushed is way more satisfying than kicking people when they're already down.

Just my personal idea/suggestion. Can we have maybe some moderates to keep in contact with GMK, SP or whatever the manufacturer is, to check the status on monthly basis with the approval from GB starters? This way we can get feedback in time and buyers won't have to wait for 5 months to find out that GB started didn't even submit order.

I know GH moderates are all volunteers but it will be so great if we can have this done.

He got too big for his own good.

Elton has ran multiple GBs but from what I remember they weren't running one on top of the other. Bill has done the same, finished one and went on to the other. The problem is when one person or group (remember redline?) has a ton of **** going on and can't handle it. The list of trusted members gets slimmer and slimmer with every one of these problems.
