I’ll be honest with everyone here. This was my absolute first time observing how this custom korean keyboard group by is run. And after seeing how his so called nice guy, or as everyone likes to call him the keyboard “god” is so politely and pleasantely running this circus, i’ve lost all interest in owning a TGR. This whole 42 seconds and 40-50 units round looks nothing but a gimick to elevate his own status.
‘Exclusive’ someone said? Give me a break. At this point in time (late 2018) this board has nothing exclusive going for it other than the name. It’s a 2014 design with some unnecessary added weights, because everyone else around is adding weights to their designs. it’s very trendy right now to polish that brass and talk about added kilograms.
Enjoy your ‘exclusivity’ club people and continue to brag about how quickly you can fill in those google forms. Now that i’ve seen what this entails, i will not participate and support such circus ever again. I would rather send my money to Wei on kbdfans and enjoy my masproduced chinese products.
Now ya’ll can go on and trash me for speaking my mind. Lay praise on your exclusive keyboard gods.
Okay since my actual serious response to this absurd post got deleted, I'll post another actual serious response.
Take a step back, take a deep breath. This is a hobby and I think sometimes people let their emotions get the better of them. That being said, you need to actually consider what goes into these group buys. Yuktsi is one person handling the whole group buy. He picks up the raw machined units and brings them to anodizing himself. There are SEVEN parts that go into this keyboard -- that's 7*40 units that need QC after the anodizing is complete. If there are any defects, the unit is rejected and parts have to be remade. For example, in TGR-Alice, all the silver units were rejected and had to be remade, most of the black units faced the same fate. TGR has a history of great keyboards and even the Jane and Jane CE are still highly sought after. Why do you think people still pay thousands of dollars for OTD keyboards? They're outdated technology that is arguably functional, I don't see you complaining about that.
Anyway, I'd like to challenge you to run a group buy of even just 40 damn units and handle it with as much care and responsibility as Yuktsi.
Get some perspective and as always if you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.
