DIMENSIONS

PROTOTYPE

INTRO

KN01 is an industrial design knob for daily usage. It is made out of 6061 aluminium which is CNC turned and milled from a solid rod. You might have used other knobs but they are not as stable as this one, because this one uses a bearing mounted knob which makes it wobble free. It can be programmed according to your need. It can be used for video editing, volume, brightness, media player and many more. It also comes with an EC12 encoder with no detent which makes the knob as smooth as gliding on a butter.

Some of you might be having a question. Does it take click input?
Yes, it takes both rotary and click input. It was the most difficult part of design.

Not bad I like the idea nad the price is good. It does look pretty close to the BNR1 although I know that you can only do so much with the shape it's just the two tone is literally a colorway they have. ano is sometimes hard to photograph but the ano quality looks a little noisy maybe a higher grit or polish the unit then chamfer after.

This looks heavy duty, but I would suggest that you rethink you're choice of MCU for the PCB. It's way too overkill for a knob with three function, especailly considering the chip shortage issues

I think the MCU comment above is a good point. Maybe a different option could help reduce prices too.

UPDATE 31/1/2022

The name has been changed from NK01 to KN01, as it was similar to NovelKeys NK1.

Well now you might as well call it KN013!

This is an easy buy for me if it makes it through IC.

It does look pretty close to the BNR1

This is Binepad. Neoknob is Binepad with a different brand name.

I assume because their awful track record of QC and customer support left them unable to run a GB with their old name.

The reason I know it's them is because they emailed me an ad for this GB at an email address I gave only to Binepad (I bought a BNR-1, which I eventually had to charge back because it just literally wasn't delivered and the shipping company they hired refused to respond to any messages about it).

I would strongly recommend avoiding this.

We are definitely going to change the MCU as of now ATMEGA324-MU cost around $10.

I certainly am. I now have a board with a knob but would like to switch to an alice layout without one. I still need the knob though.
