GMK have informed me that the LOCK and CTRL in 1.5U are the only full uppercase mods they have, all others will have to be new legends, something I'm not keen on at all, maybe 1.5U and 1.25U ALT and 1.25U CTRL, so that all the legends are full uppercase on the bottom row.

Also thinking about scoops+bars on the two homing keys.

This is last call for any changes before we get final renders from GMK!

1.5u LOCK key is cool too for us who prefer the capslock in the position of left Control key

All upper case on the bottom row only  ?

I say just keep the first letters of each key capitalized so they all match. Looks better that way anyways.

I've asked GMK for their renders and pricing today. That will most likely stay private as Massdrop will be running this, and they will dictate the final price.

I had an old OG white on black Cherry set that I bought out of an used POS keyboard that had 1 unit windows keys pad printed, after all the use the POS keyboard had seen the keys look as good as if the rest of double shots, but a bit dimmed in comparison. You can check them in the picture, the two windows keys were pad printed.

Since the 'gmk Royal alpha set' get the darker legends printed on the lighter color keys , so In my humble opinion it won't be the same like the WOB set.

Wouldn't it be great if the mod set would be available by itself!

GMK is ABS so if it's not double-shot it's pad printed*

* technically you can laser and infill, but no one sane suggests that for a custom set

IMO it would be pad printed since the abs could be melted at the dye sub process.

We got 20% here in the UK, and I thought that was high...

The 1U CODE keys seem to be vertically aligned incorrectly – this problem isn't present in the mockups for the 1.25U CODE keys. I assume this is just a mistake in the mockups, and won't be reflected in the final set?

International shipping rates with massdrop are pretty horrific. Been a long standing complaint from non-US folks.

They actually have great shipping rates when they deliver the goods themselves, to SEA countries at least. We almost consistently get tracked shipment at lower price than untracked shipping from other retailers, or any individually run group buy.

Just to throw this out there without getting ahead of ourselves, I am interested in making this set part of a GMK keyset trilogy.

The basic backbone would be the same for all of them:
Base set with some dark color legends double-shot on some variant of white/beige with a secondary color pad-printed sub-legends
Mods set with some variant of white/beige legends double-shot on the secondary color used for sublegends and few accent keys in a close but different color to the secondary color.

First one is obviously going to be the Green theme, which is this set.
Second one will be a Red theme, so black legends (CR), Russian-Cyrillic red (V1) sub legends, and a red mods set with a few V2 accent keys
Final one will be a Blue Theme, so dark-blue legends (V4), electric blue (N5) sub legends and a electric blue mods set with a few V4 accent keys

Again, this is just a wild idea and will depend on the success of the first round, but is something I'd like to organise, be involved in and see happen.

RGB sets (3 sets) would be neat.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Some mockups of your trilogy will allow the people to give you some feedback, otherwise everything has to be imagination, remember that a picture worth hundreds of words.
