If you are into Asian food, there's a ton great KBBQ's.  Or you can hit mimic's favorite spot at Boiling Crab.

As above: we just got in. only time for showers and sleep. I'm uploading pictures now.

First day in LA was exciting. Talked to a wise sysadmin for the LA sheriff on the plane. Agonized over license plats in checked baggage (mine came out last I swear....) rode with kawa in the fiat.

I was at a costco. I have never been in a store that huge. It was daunting. Found some battery and oil (on sale!) and left (battery guy was all like :nsx was it? I was like: I wish )

Ming thinks we can fit the entirety of my hometown into the costco. I am skeptical, as old greta's oxen don't like buildings, so I doubt they'd comply.

Saw that car! !!! so pretty! (so dirty.)

installed oil tank plug, wiper blades, belt. I totally could'a got the belt on by myself, but will admit that it was easier with help. checked out car. washed it.

kawa learns me up good on how to drive. Spend an enjoyable hour or two in the parkinglot practising.

sherryton and demik arrive. Not as I picture them, very enjoyable company. Details and pictures of our night on the down to follow (later)

Here is the car we are driving in:

caption: !!!

Here's some delicious Korean food.

caption: OMG so tasty!

breakfast today: just a piece: delicious raspberry treat. mmmm. I also had some cheese thing and some truly excellent quiche.

caption: this is the raspberry thing. credit partially to the CPT for holding it for me in the light.

To do list:
shower
sleep
everything

dorkvader really liked it. I'll post better pictures of his collection when I'm home. Wish I got more pictures of our time with TJ. We played with a ton of headphones:

- Mr Speakers Mad Dogs
- Hifiman HE500s
- AKG K550s
- Audeze LCD - 2s
- Sennheiser HD600s
- Fostex T50

I've got the HD600s and Hifiman's along with the Magni/Modi stack. We're in Arkansas, on our wau to mashby's for dinner.

Drive carefully please :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The last day of driving was the hardest, dallas to cincinnati to virginia all in one go. Something like 20 hours of driving.

I'm genuinely curious whether you felt the Nixdorf love.

They felt like everything Vintage Blacks are supposed to feel like when I read descriptions. Frankly, I wasn't *too* impressed with Vintage Blacks and feel that I wouldn't bother too much to hunt some down. If I could get some Vintage Blacks? Great. If not? Oh well. But Nixdorf Blacks feels remarkably different from modern Blacks. The resistance at the top feels lighter and the whole travel feels smoother overall. Too bad they're still linear switches and inferior to say MX Greens :P. They were nice, I enjoyed them. I wouldn't go ape **** over them since I could easily just lube modern Blacks and enjoy a similar experience but they were definitely great. The clear Cherry tops and Linear White were super cool though.

Yea, on paper. But my week was nutzoid. Meeting to possibly re-join old partnership consulting group, negotiating a possible new job, out of town 4 days...

I'd rather live the good life, buy a sweet ride from Kawa, visit über-cool buddies in Nor Cal, and take a bi-coastal cruise.

Oh wait, that's you guys.

Oh wait, that's not you guys.

More road trip pics.

cptbadass is a chump. I don't have your number or I would have called for sure.

I bought a kendama last night. ozora natural wood so It's not competition approved, but whatever.

The RSX video is great 'cause I was doing really well next to the bench, but when CPTbadass came out with the camera, I wasn't as good, still, you can see the improvements. If only he got a video of me spiking it. I think I outrank him because I can do it more reliably.

nixdorf love? yes indeed! I really liked the vintage linear clear on the spacebar. We compared cherry and aftermarket clear switch tops as well.

I've been sleeping heavily these last few days and will probably get 'round to uploading pictures real soon now.
