I'm thinking of doing a Q&A session on my twitch.tv account.  Would anyone be interested in such a thing?

Definitely!

transthulu looks really nice!

It really does -- give a green translucence, and Cthluoids without keyboards will buy them just to get one of the keys.

minthulhu is going to happen :|

I call first!

Unless you plan on a green transcthulu

I dunno, you tell me if it is good :3

It came out more like my Seafoam Green color

More fading color experiments... and my fiance's bird cap

That is epic as **** :o

Not that it is too much, but I can't get a camera into the basement where the equipment sits.  I can show a lot of the tools, draw diagrams, and talk about all of the wild ass concepts I have had :p

Can't tell if actually concerned that current batch will be a bust, or is about to post a bunch more pictures of awesome caps.

All of my molds have the image on the top of the cap face down... gravity does some cool things.

Here is the top of the leftover resin from this batch,

Here is the bottom,

When under pressure there is a lot less movement... I can tell because have some of the keys out of the molds.  Only one out of the 10 didn't make it.  Some of the caps have more silver than others which is a problem caused by mixing so much silver in with a larger resin batch.

Pics to come after the keys completely set.  The addition of metal powder inhibited the reaction some bit, but it will harden completely in about 2 more hours.

NOTE: I had put these molds in the pressure pot at 1 AM, it is now 4:18 AM and the caps are not yet 100% solid.  This is from a 90 minute cure resin.  Factors increasing time-- temperature of 40F in the basement & metal powder.  90 minutes turns into 6 hour cure time in these conditions.  Full cure with final pigment in probably 10-12 hours.

Those look good enough to eat!

There are so many keycaps around here recently that look good enough to eat!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I'm making a batch I want to call Mystic Galaxy.  It will be opaque- blue and various shades of red marbled effect.  It would look much better translucent, but I have been getting some odd yield issues with the semi-clear caps.

I made a total of 14 of those "golden" caps above.  Only those two were good.

I tried to make 4 of those lions because they look so good :D so much fail!
