GO PEOPLE GO!!! Just got myself a Deep Silver Keythulhu - so happy :D
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I'm excited to know that people appreciate the designs and colors.  I really want to make a video of one of the more complicated cap making processes... like the Bubblegum Jam.  That was a 4 color process.

Dyed PurpleBlue Mica onto Gum Pink opaque resin injected into the mold face, 40 minutes cure time, marbleize Strawberry red into Royal Blue, seal, pressurize.

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Oh, I had a question -- has anyone embedded an LED in a custom keycap? Would an LED survive the casting process, even? Just wondering out loud. Or, what about moulding the keycap to allow an LED to be attached directly to the bottom after casting?

making a hole that would accept an LED is something more appropriate than casting it into the piece.  If made correctly friction would keep it in place... there's just the issue of it being useful to have in your key.  The rest of the keymakers and I make the tops thick or the LED will overpower the look of the figure on top.

leds are literally just pieces of silicon in fancy plastic cases. so no, no one has tried it but yes, it would survive with aplomb. it would have to be a dip thru-hole LED, so necessarily less efficient, but plenty efficiency to light the crap out of the translucent PU that binge is using. the tricky bit is keeping the LED in the desired position through set. overcasting may help here, because it can simply sit at the top of a layer.

I don't. What I did was take a dremel to the donor key to make the majority of the shape. The epoxy is then added and then I define the shape after dunking it under water for a moment . Being under water gives the tools more control, but hard edges don't come out very well.

hehehe, it is an interesting shape.  I'm going to make the jaw pretty sharp, but I will make it look more human/unified with the rest of the piece.
