Hello geekhack fellows this is my idea in designing a replace case for the existing filco minila keyboard. The case it self is full alumium in three parts, with the middle plate running through the body, i have pick my ideas from Centre Pompidou, with the curve in the middle.  This is my initial design and i have changed my idea based on the small group of minila users , i will be making this case as a keyboard as well to anyone who wants to have a 60% keyboard. I would like to keep the design simple while still hold the same size as the original minila case. Also the keyboard will provide normal 60% layout as well as minila and HHKB layout. Here are some renders i have made.


i also have an idea in making the middle plate in titanmium rather than alumium. Due to the strengh and thickness of the part.

i would like know if anyone like the minila keyboard typing position with height support or without. Feel free to comment and i will be finalizing the design in the spring next year.

i will update this project again at the end of the year with the full keyboard design and price.

What kind of mount is that? I see posts in the middle but I assume these are to enhance stiffness. I like the layout as well as badges on front and top. Although I see no mounting points for plate, I see that plate going through middle of the case but I can't imagine pcb being that bent so I guess mounting points are somewhere else or I might have not noticed something. It would be nice if this was offered as mix and match colorway with extra plates, bottoms and badges. Also I see no usb cut out, is this going to be bluetooth?

The bent middle part really looks like centre Pompidou's outside escalators. When you see it you can't unsee it anymore. Good job! May be one day you will have it featured over there.

Little update to the untitled keyboard design
i shifted the usb pot to the middle on the back and added an extra line to fit the keyboard design concept. Hope you guys will like it im going to make prototype in the Xmas holiday and update will be followed with pcb and possibly along with the price and color options

Any plans on allowing this to accept an ISO enter layout? If so, this can accept a full Japanese keyboard layout. This looks great btw.

Yes!, i haven't put in the ISO layout render, this keyboard will have both windows , iso and HHKB layout, there will be a prototype soon before Chinese new year.

Im working on the pcb right now, there will be a switch connector inside, which means this keyboard will support most 60% pcb as long as that pcb has a type-c connector.
