Leather wrist rest picks: Filco or 3-Star?

Here are the picks for leather wrist rests:

This one is poly-coated.

This one is just all leather and no coating.

They both seem high quality.  The Filco is less money than the 3-Star but is poly-coated and I'm not sure if that is good or not.  Should leather be coated?  I thought leather was supposed to breath?  Also, I wouldn't think it would be as nice to work on as the non-coated "3-Star.
Does anyone have either of these and can give their findings or facts on this?
I'm trying to committ to one or the other and at the price tag of either, I need some user inside info because I'm ready to buy this weekend.

No problem.  Was just trying to save you some money and FWIW, I tried both and like Filco one better since it's a little thinner and has better grip.  Couldn't tell the difference between the coating. To each his own though, might not be for everyone.

I have a hard time spending $70+ on a wrist rest.  Have you tried the 3M gel-filled kind?

The leather is died with a vegetable tannin. Furthermore, from EK:

Real leather will get dirty quicker than fake leather, this is why it is often applied in VERY high quality headsets, I mean fake leather. Real leather is an option if you want it, but fake leather does better overall because its easier to care for.

So as always there is no best thing. Touching and sweating into some plastic kind of thing an ultimately really badly tanned leather isn't the best thing one can do, and its probably poisonous to some degree.

Is the non-PU model from EK tanned with nastiness?

I've been using the filco one for the past 4 years and it still looks pretty new. No signs of wear whatsoever.

Funnily, the other day I saw a wristrest, which seemed to be filled with small pellet-like thingies, sewn into a sausage-shaped pouch. Tried it and found it very weird - your palms sink very quickly close to the surface level, and the feeling is funny, in the weird sense.

Yeah, I got one of those from office depot and hated it.  Glad they took it back.  Useless!

I'm going with EK's 3-Star.  I neglected to consider the S/H on each.  Initially, The Keyboard Co is about $13 cheaper than EK but after adding carriage, EK ends up about $4 cheaper then The Keyboard Co.  It seems to be clear what to do.
