http://www.pcwaishe.cn/thread-452000-1-1.html
my english is not very good so it's difficult for me to translate for u guys...sorry

Poker II

the new poker(poker II) will have a improved edition, when I'm working on this, I have put a lot of new functions in it, this new poker keeps the functions of the original poker, and aims for convenience... and the price will just like the original poker..

to be honest.. I devoted myself into making poker a keyboard without limitations.. easy to use, have unique features, some thing we familiar and convenient.. I really want to put many different features into poker, and finally I made it.. so I said it could be a remarkable keyboard.. if things going smoothly, this keyboard named poker pro will be introduced to public next month

Yeah, thanks for the info. We'd heard some rumblings about a new version of the Poker but good to get further confirmation from the source. If only there was some actual information about it. Or a picture. Or something. ;-)

I see no pictures of either version. Am I missing something obvious?

There will be more editions of the Poker in the future, by making continual improvements to the current Poker.

While improving the current Poker, new functions will be added while preserving the original present. It aims to increase user experience through simplicity and utility value.

Prices for the new Poker will remain the same as the original Poker.

The Poker 2 will not be released anytime soon.

I have actually devoted the past year to transform the Poker into a keyboard that does not restrict customisation.

I hope to integrate many qualities which seem immicible into the new Poker, such as striking characteristics, user familiarity and convenience, and comfort.

In the end, I successfully created the revolutionary keyboard, the Poker Pro, which should be released next month if everything goes smoothly.

To me that is the least of its problems. A very similar layout is used on the hhbk and it turns a 2x key into 2 1x keys so switching keycaps there shouldn't be a big problem. Not everyone would be a fan of it for sure but at least its an established design with few complaints against it.

In order to fit three 1x keys where the 2.75x right shift usually is they made the left shift smaller too so have fun switching keycaps it's not just the bottom row that's odd.

That 1x shift seems like a massive compromise to me. The_Beast already described the bottom row well in my opinion so it is not really worth going in to.

at least they didn't just throw out the function layer of the pure like they did with the poker when it came time to go to the next design.

If it's PCB-mounted, reasonably priced, and hopefully programmable, I'm in, even though I don't like the layout at all.

from what I've read the fn (function) layer is not programmable but the pn (programmable) layer is. Hopefully there are toggles to change the left fn key into a pn key so that you can more easily access your own layout over theirs for secondary layers.

I don't think that is a picture of the new Poker...someone mentioned it was an early version of some other keyboard...

Hopefully there is a different Poker, because the "Pure Pro" that we're seeing pictures of of DT is a mess.

Except we've discussed this way back in Nov @Pure Pro. http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=37444.0

If Poker Pro is also coming in Jan, and it is indeed a different board. I highly suspect it will have the exact same physical layout.

Any news on dip switches for the poker/pure pro?

Definitely in for one if you can:
switch L_CTRL and CAPS LOCK
alternative backspace:
backspace where delete is
tilde where backspace is
delete where tilde is

Honestly, this is the perfect physical layout (imo) if it were fully programmable.
Where they chose to put the actual keys, however, I'm not the biggest fan.
