Is it possible to lube the keyswitch without open it?
« on: Sat, 06 July 2013, 19:11:46 »
My QFR red switch is feeling a little scratch, it's working all OK, just not as smooth as my other keyboards.

I am thinking of lube it a little bit, but I don't have skill nor time to desolder the switches, lube them and put them back. I did some search and come across this article, http://imgur.com/a/lhLqo

Did anyone try this before and how did it work?

Thanks in advance.

I just flood them while keeping it pressed. Since flooding may dumpen it a lot, a simple solution is to blow compressed air in it for half a second. It removes anything in excess without damaging it.

Can you please provide more detail, Like what lubricant you were using, how did the key switch feel after that? Any mess on the plate?

Thanks

Probably used DeoxIT Fader.
