Good for stabilizers in moderate amounts. But using them to on switches will mess them up for sure.

Thanks, what would you recommend for switch lubing then?
I've read this thread (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34332.0)  and there seem to be several valid options, wondering what you guys would recommend,

We always recommend a 1:1 mixture of DuPont Krytox GPL 103 and 205. If you can find it. :)

Yeah i tried to find the 103 but it was freaking impossible (i found one somewhere but it was a huge container). what would you recommend if not this super mix?

I can vouch for super lube as a cheap alternative. Though I did order some krytox to eventually compare against.

Hmmm, when feeling and listening to my stabilizers, I think I could use this at least on my home keyboard.

Not sure if I should though. Everything considered I like how they feel. I am worried about creating some sort of inconsistency between the feel of the stabilizers and the rest of the keyboard.

I've been using Tribolube 71 on stems/stabilizers which is almost the same as GPL-205 by my guess but around half the price, and victorinox on springs. I love it on reds and blacks so far, and will try it on clears soon.

Instead of creating a new thread, I'm just going to bump this one.

It seems that Elite Keyboards has a new product for lubricating switches/stems: MechLube 2. It's only $6 and I'm curious to know if it will be a cheap and simple alternative to the Krytox 205/103 mixture usually recommended. Maybe someone can do a side by side comparison? :)

I would also like to know if anyone has tried Mechlube-2.  I want a low viscosity lube for my ergo clears.  Not sure if i should go for this or that silicon lube with teflon.

It would be nice if they actually said what the lube is made of - silicon, teflon, etc?

Personally I like Finish Line Extreme Fluoro, which is 100% Teflon grease.  I've used it on a couple of squeaky stabilizers, both Cherry and Costar type, and it works great every time.  You wouldn't want to use that on switches, though; too viscous.

There's a type of synthetic grease sold for garage door opener gears that's very thin but doesn't seem to run off, Tribolube 39.
