[IC] Blank Burgundy & Black PBT 60% DSA Keycap Set

Greetings Gentlemen.

For the first time in my life i am running an interest check for a set of my design. I have contacted SP in order to know the pricings and such and now i am strongly considering running a group buy with them (hosted on their website).

The modifiers, spacebar and esc keys would be burgundy.
The whole typing field and number would be black.
All keycaps are BLANK, DSA profil and made of PBT.

The set could exist in full size and tkl aswell. For F-row, it would be alternate 4 between black and burgundy DSA keycaps (blanks again) and the numpad would have black numbers keys and burgundy modifiers aswell. Function cluster and arrow keys should be available in both color (maybe, would be nice). I will create a layout sketch with the colors if the interest check goes well.

All in all here is the pricing table given by SP (Given for 60% layout) :

Check in this thread for color references. Why have i not picked up this set beforehand, you ask?

Multiple reasons here :
- I was not yet registered
- I was late
- I do not like the font and i want blanks anyway
- It's ABS and SP may now do the same color in PBT
- SP new group buy system makes it sooooo easy

Plus :
- Newer options such as full-set and tkl sets (still need to confirm with SP)
- Rare unusual once-in-a-lifetime occasion for you to procure yourself a royal-ish burgundy DSA modifiers set (which is awesome!)
- I'm considering asking them to make the blank black color "variable" since they already have multiple PBT simple keycaps, so you could freely swap them to different colors
- Burgundy is my favrit color. (Looks retro, looks royal, looks hipster, currently wearing burgundy pants, unusual, matches with any casual everyday swag).

If this interest check is a success i will ask Matt3o if it doesn't bother him that i reuse his pictures on the linked thread (better ask before, it's his work before anything else.)

SP already sells DSA PBT blanks separately for modifiers and alphanums at very good prices.  What makes your set different is the burgundy color.  You definitely need to show pictures or mockups of what your idea is going to look like.

That burgundy looks pretty good. Try to get a colour card tag image to show in this thread, that can help to generate interest. I might be interested myself, because I need blank DSA sets for my Race S - but I was more looking for pink than anything else. Burgundy might be useful to combine with pink for me.

SP already sells DSA PBT blanks separately for modifiers and alphanums at very good prices.  What makes your set different is the burgundy color.  You definitely need to show pictures or mockups of what your idea is going to look like.

1) ErgoDox compatibility: 4 2u, 12 1.5u, and 8 1u. This is minimal. A few more 1u's could be added.

2) Since blacks are already available for cheap, I'd recommend finding a different color to match (or simply providing all keys in burgundy).

3) Make sure to include home row indicators (commonly on F/J). These can be either deep dish (preferred for DSA imo) or homing bumps.

1) Well the way I prefer to do mods on the ergodox is as seen here: 8 1u, 12 1.5u, and 4 2u. Some prefer to have more keys in the mod colors, such as the bottom row and the top 1u key on the inside columns. This would be 20 1u, 12 1.5u, and 4 2u. I believe that's the way SP has their base vs. mod kits setup for the ergodox caps, although they'll let you rearrange as you wish.

3) On most keyboards, the F and J keys have indication bumps so that touch typists know where the home row is. You'll need to be sure to include keys like this with your set. For DSA keycaps, it's common to use what are called deep dish keys as home row indicators instead. You can see pictures here.
