Soarer has made some code available so that you can build a converter out of a teensy controller. It supports a few different protocols and can make them all into USB.

For the record, if you just want to convert it to PS/2 then it is sometimes trivial if it is the same protocol since it is just a differently sized physical connector.

If your board AT-compatible, you can just solder an PS2 connector to it or use passive adapter - which is dirty cheap.

Or you can use Soarer's converter to make it usb-compatible.

If it's board with XT-protocol, you NEED Soarer's converter.

Just realized my mainboard doesn't have PS2, so I will have to go DIN to USB.

Yes, to the extent that I had my old NEC keyboard working well no my Mac.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
