No idea what they use nowadays, since I'm not there anymore, but it was part of the POS system, with a built-in card reader. It said "Made in UK" on the bottom and weighed about two kilos, despite being quite compact and having a plastic shell. The double-shot enter key was worn through to the white plastic.
I pulled off a key once out of boredom and saw that it had a switch quite unlike the scissor switch on my laptop, and said "Cherry" on it, which I thought was a very odd name, in a kitschy 80s Asian trademark kind of way, à la Lucky Goldstar. Only recently did I realise it was Cherry MX black.
