I believe that the location of the tactile bump is different. Definitely gritty compared to the clears.
not location, size
browns have a very slight tactile bump, where as clears/greys have a much more pronounced bump
So there is potential for ergo greys then?
Ergo greys = ErgoClears, assuming it's the tactile greys. Same slider mold, same big tactile bump. Great feeling switch

The bump doesn't necessarily feel gritty or scratchy. The sliders of all modern MX switches are scratchy when new. They need to be worn in and this goes away. Some compare the tactile bump on browns to there being a grain of rice in a Red switch and some are a lot harsher with their description of how they feel and say it feels like a dirty / scratchy Red switch.
In general, stronger springs make the bump feel smaller, lighter make it feel bigger. It's really just a reduction in relative tactility due to the ratios of forces, but the result is they feel more tactile with lighter springs.
