Questions about Zelious Switches

Hey guys I been hearing a lot about Zelious Switches. I got some questions about then, I'm a total newb ahah. Firstly whats the actuation force of these switches (like MX red being 45g for example). Also I heard there ergo clear. So there like MX clears but lighter? They look super cool though ahah.

The actuation force depends on what variant you get, but the measurements listed on the website list the bottoming out force.
And that is what an ergo clear is, they were originally clears with springs from a brown/blue/red.

Thanks a lot . I went on the site and the lowest I saw was 62g. That means 62g in total to actuate right?

No, it means 62 grams to bottom out. I believe 62g is the closest to using the brown/red/blue springs, but I may be wrong

Cherry/Gateron measure their springs at actuation weight. This means different switches can use the same spring but have different "weights" since the bump or click increases the force necessary to actuate.

Korean springs are measured at bottom-out, since they're bare springs there's no actuation weight available.

Cherry Red/Brown/Blue springs are ~45g actuation, a bit under 60g at bottom out. 62g Ergo Clears are a tiny bit heavier spring-wise but the bump increases the actuation force by roughly 10-15g (IIRC) so they feel even heavier.

Only messed around some with the 67g Zealio switches and they are pretty close to Mx Clear imo
With the tactile bump slightly closer to the top than Cherry

It would be convenient to make a decision on switches based on a sampler, or even a single switch, or based on others input; I'd say you should try a full board over a reasonable time, let's say a month or so, to decide if that particular type is for you, or not. It is the only way you may actually know if the force needed to type is ok, if the bounce back is quick enough for your typing speed and all that.


Here at GH if you do not like a keyboard you could sell it and move ahead.
