NPKC keycaps
« on: Sat, 02 July 2016, 09:51:10 »
Hi everyone,

I am looking into buying these keycaps;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Orange-60-87-104-Top-Side-Non-PBT-KeyCap-Set-printed-for-Cherry-switch-NPKC-/282032679368
does anyone have experience with these, I am mainly concerned about the color, I want some bright orange keycaps, but they seem very pastel on the pictures of the seller. we all know the pictures of sellers often can't be trusted to be color accurate.
If these are as they appear on the pictures, I would rather go with green or light-blue.
I am also ordering just a basic white set as I really like that these are cheap and have an option to be side-printed.
other general comments on these keycaps are also appreciated.

I have some NPKC keycaps from a previous Massdrop, albeit the mint ones.

The Massdrop pics are usually fairly representative, and you can compare the various colours they have.

I'd say that these are probably a more pastel orange, rather than a bright, vivid orange.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The legends are barely visible, and look quite bad really.  I'm got mint alphas on purple mods.

NPKC sets are pretty popular on Taobao/Ebay. If you can't find what you want on Ebay you might be able to find it on Taobao

Aren't PBT colors in general more pastel like?

First of all, sorry it took me so long to reply again.
How exactly do you guys easily shop on taobao? I managed to find some orange keycap sets by looking up 'keycap' and 'orange' in Chinese. Is this How you guys do it or am I missing something?
