There have been many troll polls here in the past. I'm getting singled out cuz Ripster threw a hissy fit. That's lame.

And from looking around the forum today, its clear that this new rule has not addressed the true issue of trolling, which my poll did.

The problem consists of threads like this, discussing the rules and behavioral patterns one should follow, or posts which point out how some other post don't match the rules. Instead report the problem using the obviously-named button thing!

I will admit that I created the troll poll partly for lulz, and partly because ripster's trolling of the Filco/Leopold ringing/ping issue was getting bad.
Real bad.

I do appreciate ripster's contributions to GeekHack and I believe that the site wouldn't be the same without him. Personally, I would prefer him to stay, but just not to troll so much.

She's certainly guilty of shameful behaviour & of lying as the jury found.  This reminds me of some law & order episodes where they have to figure out the best way to get justice in a situation where the evidence is lacking to convict for the crime which everyone believes took place.  If you charge more than the evidence supports and fail then double jeopardy attaches.  Most folks hate her and think she did it but she'll probably now walk on time served.  But she'll be an outcast like O.J. who got off on much stronger evidence.

Truthfully, I said some things I shouldn't have, and hid under the guise of a "character flaw". I'd like to apologize to the following people formally and publicly:

Ripster:
First and foremost I need to apologize to you. I wrote up a bunch of crap about you just because I was mad. That was wrong and I should not have done that.

I had a bad day, so I took it out on you. You fought for what was right and I just portrayed you as criminal scum. I'm sorry about that.

I've attacked you on IRC over pointless ****, so I feel an apology is necessary here as well.

Rest of the community:
Simply for having to read and put up with my bull****. I'm sorry and I will not allow myself to step out of line again.

Whether any of the aforementioned choose to accept these apologies or not is solely up to the person receiving the apology. I won't be offended if you choose not to, since I did say some really nasty stuff.

Real life catholics don't mind to became saints, communist not mind to really do the revolution, and anarchist don't mind to live in a completely unruled society.

For the vast majority of people, ideals are just ideals, trends, driving lines.

For a communist a bit of more social equality is more than enough, like for an anarchist more relaxed rules sere sufficient to distinguish itself from people who think differently.

He is saying that a real anarchist wouldn't mind living in a ruleless society, but for most "anarchists" it's just an ideal and they would be happy with just more relaxed laws. His other example was with catholics- that in reality, trying to be a saint would be a real catholic, but for most it's just a guide and they don't really try to be saints.

tl;dr: RiGS is probably using anarchism as a loose guideline for living life, which isn't entirely unrealistic or offensive to The Solutor.
