Why, that looks to be an M-75.
My guess is someone cut and modded a Model M down to that size. Did a really good job if so. Can't see any lines or anything.

place of origin.country of origin normally comes first in languages, in this case im pretty sure its german.
so the owner of this keyboard is likely German.

Or you know, the person bought a German pen? There's a Thermos in the top corner that has English writing on it. What now?

And maybe those German pens all have the same generic German text. It's almost pointless to try to determine the country of origin based on those two things.

What we should be focusing on is what is that black piece sticking out the right side of the board?

I determine it's photoshopped, due to the Bamboo stylus. :)

I think that's supposed to be "shadow" but the light sources and angles don't match up perfectly, to my eye.

I think it's the foam lining inside or maybe the rubber contact thing (I forget what that's called).

Yes, that is what I was talking about. I know people cut the cases down, they generally fold the foam and membrane (that's the word I was looking for) under. Maybe it didn't all fit and is sticking out a bit? Maybe they actually cut it off and left it sticking out a bit? But it's definitely not a shadow. And it's not photoshopped. I can tell from seeing a lot of shops in my time.

I believe the pictured board is a user-customized board.

The board ClickClack posted a couple years ago, I do not believe was end-user customized...I think it was a custom application but not a one-off, that just isn't very common. I do have a photo of it somewhere. IIRC he found it on a banner/sign printing machine.
