Most of the time, people like their full size keyboards and are put off by the XT's branding and logos so I haven't been recommending it because of the "gamer" style looks.

Curious about this branding business. My CM XT only has the one CM Storm logo on the edge of the case which isn't visible while using the keyboard. How is that any different than the Filco logo?

Branding might be a bad term. You know how the Filco just has the three LED windows and it has a smooth case top? The XT I remember has all the channels and angles and had a grey top.

...Apparently I haven't kept up with the CM stuff because it looks different from what I remember.

I think you are confusing the CM pro whatever board with the XT. The XT is very minimal. It has the soft 'rubber' coating (which I know many don't like) but it's very similar to a ducky except with that one logo and the smooth coating and the heights are just a bit different.

ducky shine 2 with dolch, CM XT with beige

But back on topic, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the XT for a persons first mechanical, especially if they wanted full size. I just DO NOT like the full size USB connector. That is one thing that bugs me about it. I also recommend the type heaven even more so since it's currently on sale. :D

That's exactly it. I'm confusing that Quick Fire Pro with the XT. Thanks for pointing that out ray.
