Hopefully the DK9008G2 will be available again soon.

I don't know if the green MX version will become available again because these were limited editions but MK does ship international from my knowledge.

Hmmm. There's a chance that I may sell my Ducky DK9008G2 Pro LE Greens sometime in the near future. I'll be sure to let you know if I do. There were also some other people in here who were also interested and even willing to pay above MSRP.

:P I'm definitely not tired of them but need to compromise somewhere in order to be able to make other purchases. I absolutely love the greens but I would also love to try Clears and my green keyboard is the only piece I own with a high enough resell value for me to finance the Clear purchase. I might just buy the Clear keyboard, do a comparison, decide which one I prefer and sell the other. However, this will probably not be for another couple weeks. If I do end up selling my greens, it will be a sad day :(

Personally, and I have tried every MX switch, I definitely wouldn't choose the clears over the greens.  Now unless the clickiness of the greens annoys you....that's another story :)

LOL! Did you get to try all the switches from your Ducky Shine II 78 Version?! :P

I love the click! I just also own a Cherry MX Blue keyboard that also clicks just as well, if not better (older blue). It's just something about a clicking keyboard and its more complicated mechanism that makes it feel more premium and expensive. Hmmm- this one will be a hard one :( I guess I just won't know until I've tried the Clears. Thank you for your input though! It definitely helps to have others' opinions because it helps me step back from bias. After this, I just have to try Topre.

I've tried all of the MX switches, but until I started using the greens every day at work I wasn't sure what I was going to stick with long term...but I've found it in this kb.  I love every single thing about it, even the quirky window on the caps key has grown on me.

Hehe, I can totally understand you finding everything in this keyboard. It's definitely the most solid keyboard I've ever felt or owned. It just seems indestructible, and the fit and finish on this thing is beautiful even without any custom keycaps. Of course, any Model M fans will lynch me for that comment :P i've also learned to live with the windowed caps because I've owned multiple Ducky's over the years but I'd say they're still not ideal :P Ugh... I dunno if I'll be able to let this baby goooo but I will only know after I try the Clears.

Yeah I like your idea to buy the clears first and try then out, and THEN decide what you want to do with the greens.

I have Leopold board with Clears.

It's different feeling then the Greens, even without the click.

I switch between them on 2 diff systems.

starting to enjoy the Ducky board again now that i've been using it for a couple days again. Starting to settle into the nice clickness of the Greens!

Guess I can say i'm glad I got a fixed board.

Now was it worth it to get a fixed board, with all the fuss I went though? I guess.... the board works good now.

The only thing that makes me feel good about this matter is Ducky spent more money on shipping to board back to me, then I payed to ship it to their RMA guy!

At least you have the green Ducky - consider yourself lucky ;) (and pls don't sell it)
I'll probably have to wait a few more years... Even the green CM qckfire isn't available in EU :S

Why not sell it? So I won't have seller's regret? Lol, if that term even exists. I'm sure even if I don't sell it, you can get your hands on one soon. Ghetto Greens supposedly feel really damn close too so there's that option too.

The only thing I prefer the Blues over Greens is the relief/drop after the click of the actuation point on the Blues. After the click on the greens, you are met with an even stiffer force, which isn't a bad thing but just different. I think this makes the tactile click seem slightly softer on the Greens than on the Blues but this may be purely subjective. I guess I like the two for different reasons but I don't prefer one over the other.

"Ghetto" greens don't feel the same as real Greens.

Real Greens have a stronger click to them, and require a bit more force.

Not sure I'm going to keep my 'Ghetto' Greens board anymore though, now that I have the real thing.

I actually got my 'Ghetto' from someone here, with a trade for a Blue.

Not sure though, maybe if Ducky finally released the 'Grey' switch board

I will then need some cash to buy it!

OOO thank you for that. Now I don't have to wonder what they feel like :P Hooray for real Greens!

I was really tempted on the Greys tooooo but I think I'll stick to Clears. Please do write a review on the Grey switches when you do get them though. I'm very very curious on how they differ to Clears.

Well 'Ghetto's are not bad. They feel better then Blue's, at least I think so anyways. They feel close to Real Greens, so if its your only choice. You shouldn't be disappointed!

Well i'm not sure I will be getting a 'Grey' board or not. Thinking about maybe 'Whites' as well.

Don't really have and spare cash to buy any more boards, even if they eventually get released.

Would need to sell a board or 2 to finance it! Will do a review on one, if I get it though.

True. Well for me, the level of tactile-ness of the click is one of the most important factors so this helps me realize that Ghetto Greens just won't do for me, if given the choice :)

I'll be hoping you get to finance the Grey board! :P

Haha, you got it! Between my green board, my 78, and my HHKB, I'm totally done collecting keyboards...I hope!

After this, I just have to try Topre.

That is a whooole 'nother ballgame.  And the tickets for that one aren't cheap  :))

Filmed with my mobile phone so don't expect too high quality. This is with the grey case and keycaps.

Just to clarify:

MechanicalKeyboards.com handles the vast majority of Ducky RMAs in-house now.  (as of about 4 months ago)

Ducky happens to have a tech visiting in California at the moment, so we are diverting any unusual / higher level problems his way while he's in the US.

Any type of standard RMAs like malfunctioning LEDs, switches, etc. should be in and out of our shop in 2 - 3 weeks or less.   If you have any RMA you've sent to us in Tennessee that has taken over a month, please follow up with us to get an updated status: support@mechanicalkeyboards.com

Hate to necro this thread, but it's on topic, and updating my previous posts about loving this keyboard.  I've been using it as my daily driver at work for more than a year now, and I still love it, but the "3" key on my numpad has stopped working, and the tales of RMA/repairs haven't been great with these keyboards from what I've read.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!

Check the warranty status, if you can.  If it is still under warranty, opening it will void whatever warranty is left.

If you want to continue, open the case, locate the numpad 3 key under the PCB and, carefully, with the computer on and the keyboard connected, short out teh two pins with a length of wire.

If "3" starts appearing on the screen, you will need to replace the switch (desolder old, solder new).

If "3" does not appear, there are other problems.

Thanks Rowdy.  I'm not sure the warranty matters given the issues that others have had getting theirs repaired.  I can't lose thing for a month or more, might as well buy a new everyday keyboard.

But I'll your instructions a whirl and see how it goes.

Finally got around to trying to fix this.  Shorting the pins worked.  After I shorted them, the switch started working again.  The keyboard was clean, inside and out, so no ideawhat caused it, but I'm not complaining now that it works.  Thanks again Rowdy!

You could try posting in the free stuff thread - although primarily for giving things away, occasionally someone will ask for something very small as a one-off.

Strange that it worked for a little while - that makes me think that it might not be the switch.  Maybe a controller that is on the edge, and a little jolt of power somehow nudged it into a working state for a few minutes?

Anyway if you are happy to replace the switch, I doubt it would make things worse, so at least you would eliminate that possibility all together.  Just make sure you test the switch before you solder it in ;)

If you cannot find a green switch, don't forget that you can reuse the existing green stem and spring.  Then just use the switch housing from any donor mx switch that works. ;)

I was afraid of that.  Not a problem to replace the switch, just concerning that I've got more problems on the way.  I LOVE this keyboard...PBT+greens is really perfect for my every day driver at work, so I'm hoping it lasts.

Spoke too soon, it stopped working again.  I assume I need to replace the switch.  Anyone have a spare MX green laying around they want to send me? :D

If you cannot find a green switch, don't forget that you can reuse the existing green stem and spring.  Then just use the switch housing from any donor mx switch that works. ;)

I considered that, and I have a few brown switches laying around, so I could always vulture parts.  Never tried it before, but it's not like I'm lacking for info around here :)
