New board, yay! :D
« on: Thu, 26 March 2015, 12:05:21 »
My first mechanical keyboard and the one I'm using right now is a corsair vengeance K70 with MX-Blue switches. I am quite satisfied with the tactile feedback, although sometimes I feel like the blue switches require just a little bit too much force to actuate. Moreover I've found the numpad to be totally useless and if there are no compelling reasons to do otherwhise, I will never get a full-sized keyboard again. The last downside for me is the non-oem layout of the caps, making it very hard to replace them (in addition to having a ISO layout...).

I just wanted to tell you that I got rid of my K70 and got myself a used Ducky G2 Pro TKL instead. I replaced the stock caps with red DSA blanks and o-rings. I'm thinking about lubing the switches, but right now the keyboard feels fine; smoother actually than the K70... :D

Meow.

How do you like those deep dishes by the way? :)

If you like it, I don't think you should lube it

The black and red go very well together :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
