I wouldn't recommend the HHKB for gaming, especially if you use the function keys with any regularity. At the same time, the Realforce variable weight isn't great for gaming either because the lighter actuation force of the keys on the outside can result in a greater chance of accidental key presses.

In all honesty, for your purposes, I would suggest getting the Novatouch. It doesn't feel quite the same as a Realforce or HHKB, but it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination. Plus you can easily swap the keycaps out with any Cherry MX compatible set.

Well i want to buy the novatouch bro but i just dont want to wait for another gb for keycaps. Well i just play some csgo or some dota 2 so its not a big deal cuz i dont play sc2, and 1 thing that i'm scared of novatouch i'm scared that the build qulity is not as good as realforce and the fell will be different  thats what i'm scared from the novatouch. I know that the novatouch have the mx stems thats 1 thing that keeps me want the novatouch.

Having used a Novatouch, Realforce, and HHKB, I can tell you there is very little difference in build quality among them.

Variable sucks for gaming IMO....The HHKB will be much better....

Not a fan of Topre for gaming in general..but the variable weight for gaming would be odd...I suppose you can get used to it but it just feels wrong...

But 130 for a variable is a great price....I probably use that keyboard more than any other...

I would just go with the HHKB especially if you plan to get the NovaTouch in the future which you can dedicate towards gaming.

I game with my HHKB and find it equal to my Filco TKL with MX Reds in that regard.  If you were heavy using Function keys though it could be a problem.

If you prefer a standard layout, go for the RF or Novatouch (NT). IMO, the RF has better build quality and more features than the NT. If you prefer a 60% form factor and the HHKB layout, go for the HHKB. The Leopold FC660C is a solid Topre-switch board that includes aspects of the RF and HHKB.

I have not tried a variable-weight RF, but I anticipate that the 30g switches would be too light for me.

IMO, all the Topre-switch boards can benefit from some form of silencing to reduce the return-stroke "clack" and leave just the down-stroke "thock".

IMO, the RF has better build quality and more features than the NT.

What features are those? 55g weighting option, which is certainly not to everyone's tastes, and a fairly dubious built-in numpad?

I've been favoring my HHKB lately over my 87Us because I'm really getting used to the function layer nav cluster. But if we're talking just build quality, I think the RF are better built than the HHKB. Never tried the Novatouch. Still great build quality in the HHKB, but the RF boards just feel better built. Maybe that's because of the plate mounted vs case mounted switches. Regardless, both will last long enough to justify the purchase.

Point well taken that some features will not be to everyone's taste. You've mentioned two. Others include DIP switches, beveled front-bottom of case with anti-skid pads so that the pads make good contact with the desk regardless of whether or not the flip-out feet are used, easy-open case w/o having to access hidden screws, and LEDs for CapsLock and NumLock. I also count the lack of a hard-wired Fn key as a plus, because (in my case) I like to use remapping software to set up my own Fn key. I remap Right Ctrl as Fn and Menu as Right Ctrl. I can't do this on the NT, and I end up having a dead key on the board.

One feature I wish the RF had is a detachable USB cable, preferably (in my case) micro-USB like the NT, or the new USB-C.
