On the topic of ordering keyboards in Japan as a foreigner, it can be quite a hassle if you don't have a friend living in the area and don't want to fork up the fees involved in a proxy service.
I really wanted to get my hands on the R2 LE as soon as it came out (to test out all the extra features and to return to Topre) and ordering on Amazon isn't possible if you don't have a complete address + phone number. This meant getting all my family friend's address information which some people doubtlessly would hesitate to share, and then going to pick it up in person.
If you don't have a friend, you can't just get it shipped to a hotel or anything unfortunately (especially with how varying the shipping times can be), you'll have to pay for proxy service (none of which allowed to pick up the item in person). It's still probably cheaper than getting it through a foreign vendor, but it'll take longer to ship and there's much more room for complications.
