when I press the top right hand side del key, nothing happen, aren't both bs, and the del key suppose to work?

Depending on how you have your DIP switch set up -

1) Del is the key marked Delete (button where \| is on a standard US keyboard), and BS is Fn + that key.

2) Backspace is the key marked Delete, and delete if Fn + ~`

I'm not explicitly familiar with the Lite extension mode, but I assume that it's the second configuration of the above two.

EDIT: From the diagram on the other page, Lite extension is the mode I use on mine... So del if Fn + `~

I have on lite extension mode, so "bs" key is the delete by itself, but when press fn and del key, the del key doesn't work.

does the del key suppose to work when press fn and del on lite extension mode??
thanks

Del = Fn + ~` (i.e. the key above the del key, which has del written on it's front side instead of the top)

Allow me to put this in the single most unambiguous way possible -

When you are in HHKB lite extension mode, Backspace is this -

And Delete is this -

I know people get sensitive about their identity being on the web, but damn, it's just a hand, bro.

There's actually a very good explanation for all this...

But I'll leave you folks to guess what it is.

Truth is that when I took those pics, I was about to go out to do some dumpster diving to get a NIC for my new Dolch PAC 64. Hobo gloves are an essential part of my dumpster diving routine.

To look the part is to be the part.  Well done.

Did you find the NIC?

Tsk tsk tsk CH, I've got assloads of NICs.

Though, shipping alone makes them less desirable than your locally disposed-of examples.

Found three different 100Mbps NICs, I'm thinking at least one should work.

I got one from college yesterday, but it made the Dolch think that it was a Maths Department X-terminal. That was a rather lolworthy moment.

Har de har har.

10/100M PCI and 10M ISA...presumably the 486 doesn't have PCI making NIC-finding substantially more difficult.

Hobo gloves are a terrible idea for typing, they really slow you down...
