I'd suggest a deep crimson if you're going with anodized aluminum - it'll look totally sick! Love the renders

Love that silver blue....wanted a canoe with that color way (or silver pink)

If colors can come out like the renders, this will indeed be an awesome board.

Any idea of price range and/or pcb compatibility?

Interesting board you've designed.
How much extra time did it take for milling the honeycombs in the base? Would you also be adding o-rings to the bottom case in regards to the extra spacing you've milled out on the screw holes? Also, is there any significance to the asymmetrical registration marks for the plate and bottom case?

Wait BC? If this is cheaper than the Polaris I'm definitely buying this over Polaris. Color suggestion is white case and red secondary!

I agree. Four or six should be enough, top and bottom. You can also just lose the side screws and do with just eight like the kyuu. Since it will be sandwiched, maybe one of halves can have alignment tabs to secure the plate in place, like the aegis, jane v2, and kyuu.
.
Edit: I saw that you do have some sort of alignment tabs. If you have them where some of the screw holes are, again like the three examples, it would look much cleaner.

You're right we can definitely look into lowering the number of screw holes.

Better some more screws than having a gap somewhere, due to uneven pressure.

Looks good! I'm personally not a fan of low profile cases, so I'd be very interested in a high profile version.

Keep it up! I will be monitoring this closely. Great to see manufacturing being done in Canada!

Thank you! we have gotten rid of the gap on both sides by popular demand LOL!  I will look into high profile cases, although I'm mostly looking into making a compatible hhkb plate and top for this case. :thumb:

I really like this design!

Might I suggest a 3mm acrylic/polycarbonate plate option? This would let light out from underglow which would also be reflected quite nicely off of the buffed interior honeycomb! I am assuming the seem in the side of your case is the plate...

Great suggestion! our shop landlord is in the acrylic business I will ask him for a piece tomorrow. it would have to be clear/transparent i assume?

Clear or frosted/milky acrylic would work. Some people prefer frosted because it diffuses the light better.

Great to see a Canadian board maker!!! My only feedback was related to getting rid of the gap but sounds like you've already addressed this.

60% is not a form factor I use, but I love that this is made in BC, full support just for that!

Great! So I have a couple warnings for you...

It looks like you intend to run the Group Buy directly from PayPal. If you send out 25 invoices in one day and suddenly your account goes up to $10,000+ in a couple of days PayPal will freeze the funds until you ship the product! Basically if this is not normal for your PayPal account to have this much money coming in it sets off their auto-fraud detection. This has happened to countless group buy runners on GeekHack.

So be sure you can afford the raw materials because the money might get tied up. If the money is tied up and you have no materials to make your product with to ship it, everyone gets shafted. The GB runner is stuck with money they can't access because they can't ship anything, the buyers angrily want their product shipped, and getting PayPal to release the funds can take months...

The second warning is that it looks like your IC form is actually the Group buy form, meaning if I put my PayPal in the interest check then I will be invoiced. This is not an interest check. Usually payment is separate from collecting the list of potential buyers. This might scare off people who otherwise would complete your interest check.

Hey thanks for the warnings! in any case money should be frozen due to paypal issues we will still be able to buy material and manufacture as per order!

If it's anything like the quality of your other work it will be killer. I imagine you don't want to complicate things focus on getting it right but is there any chance of a HHKB top in future if this first run is well received?

Yes! I commented earlier how I will mostly focus on hhkb compatible plate and top if first run goes well.. but i'd also start working on a 75% design which will probably be high profile :)

Looks nice and as long as the split space support stays I'm very interested.

How hard is it to polish the "Natural Aluminum" variant? Or will it come polished?

We buff and wax each one with red rouge. The natural aluminum will be pretty easy to scratch, and also prone to fingerprint marks which is why we'll include a shammy towel with it.  :))

Original idea was to use as weight pockets but ended up being pockets to make case lighter. Top clack guys wondered if it would make any acoustic difference - so I'm pretty curious.

It will definitely reflect rgb lighting nicely though! so we're planning to machine a 3mm frosted acrylic plate to see how it looks.

My understanding is that 6u spacebars and stabs arent very common?
