Sup pretty much hit the nail on the head. Compared to Leopold specifically Corsair's boards are a very poor value for your money. Even the highest end Corsair "Gaming" MKBs are more similar to cheap Chinese MKBs than any of Leopold's boards, Sup was not exaggerating. The big upgrades over the $20 to $50 Chinese MKBs on the Corsair boards would be better RGB lighting control, better macro capabilities (although you have to use the Corsair software to access this & the RGB control), USB passthrough, & slightly better switches (Cherry switches have been middle of the road switches for sometime now, since the clones have caught up & even surpassed them in some cases). Beyond that they are made in much the same way. A cheap thin aluminium top housing that also serves as the plate, a cheap thin plastic bottom housing, very thin & cheap ABS caps (even the upgraded PBT caps are cheap ones), mass produced by a company who makes many other products so the QC is always suspect, etc.
To me when you are buying a $20 to $50 MKB all of that should be assumed & expected, at that price point someone should just be looking for a MKB that works & doesn't fall apart in days. Now take that same formula & slap a $100 to $200 price tag on it, doesn't look so attractive anymore does it. As for the big differences between a Leopold board & Corsair one they would be a properly designed KB (separate housing from the PCB/plate/switches assembly), a better housing (Yes it is all plastic, but a high quality & decently thick plastic), nice hefty steel plate, much higher quality stock key caps, standard layout, & much higher QC. All at the same or lower pricing than a Corsair "gaming" MKB. As it stands now I'd put Razer's & Logitech's in the same category as Corsair's. Although Razer has actually been in contact with the community & is actively trying to bring theirs up to par with Leopold's, Varmillo's, Ducky's, etc. offerings. So they may be a company to keep an eye on if you're dead set on having a "gaming" MKB.
Ultimately though I think the actual hate the community harbors for all these "gaming" MKBs is from the fact that for the $200 to $250 you'd pay for a top of the line one, you could build a fairly nice custom MKB that is even of higher quality than the Leopold boards. A lot of the community started with these Corsair, Razer, Logitech, etc. "gaming" MKBs & felt ripped off after they found out how low quality they are compared to other brands that exclusively make MKBs at lower prices or how nice of a custom build you can build for the same price. Rightfully so IMHO also, I'd be pissed too if I found out my $200 MKB had more in common with a $50 no name Chinese MKB than a $120 Leopold board that outclasses both in every way!
