Spray painting keyboards

Has anyone tried to spray paint their keyboard? How did it turn out? Any pointers?

I really want a 60% WKL in Rose Gold but it is hard to find, so I am considering buying a black one off KBDFans and (carefully) spray painting it.

So long you are spray painting plastic it would turn out good but i doubt it would look good if you spray paint a aluminum case and be durable.

If you where planning to spray paint a aluminum case cerkakote it instead of spray paint.

I have painted a few, both plastic and aluminium. Spray paint wears off on edges and corners. That applies to all materials but especially aluminium. Aluminium primer adheres well only to freshly sanded bare aluminium - it does not bite on anodised aluminium.
Metallic spray paint often lacks luster, and is almost never comparable to the real thing.

I was planning on painting an aluminum keyboard. I'll look into cerakoting, thanks!

I spray painted on resin (dactyl manuform). The lower part paint that I sometimes touched wear off. The other parts are still good.

I never get a good result wich spray paint on my 3d printed wrist-rest / case, even with primer coat and varnish. Every time, with weeks of use I destroy the varnish and after that I destroy the paint.

I don't think its a good idea as it ruins the style and texture. If you mess up you could put it on the keycaps or even the PCB
