realforce 87u broken backspace key need help

my backspace key broke, guess I didn't pull it gentle enough. I can't find any replacement key, I can use glue to fix it.

What else would I do? the best is to get a original backspace key, or aftermarket pbt backspace key

cheapest way would be to attempt to superglue. would be difficult to get the position correct enough that it would click on and hold on to the slider.

another way would be to get an aftermarket set, just for the backspace (eg from https://kbdfans.com/collections/electrostatic-capacitive-keycaps).

the oem way would be to buy a topre realforce set, however they only come in colours, and are discontinued, so they're rare and expensive.

tl;dr, completely disassemble, sand plate until rust is gone, and spray paint a few coats.

I tried when I lubed my boards. very difficult to remove the key housing from the plate, how did you do that?

it's been a while but i'm pretty sure you just have to push on the left/right side, then the other side. takes a bit of force
