Update: The Honeyboar 60% - (Cerakote) StormTrooper White Group Buy starts on November 9th, 10:00am Pacific Time (PT). The GB will run for one week to the 16th or untill unit cap is full.

Unit cap is 45.

When you say December 2020 shipping combined with the price, does that mean that you already know how many units you will make?

Yes, because we machine in house, but that being said 50 unit cap for that ship date. If interest is higher that that, then the next 50 for the month after ect.

Yes Happy Hacking is an option. The plate is 6061 aluminum 1.5mm or .063" thick.

I think the render looks great. I also think cerakote is very hard to do well. In theory, it's a great idea. In practice, it's a nighmare finish to get up to "luxury" standards, and fitment issues will occur unless your guy masks very carefully.

Source: have 4 cerakoted boards. Had to wait almost 2 years to get the finish right on one of them.

Yes, I've also heard horror stories.
The company I am using is very well set up. They run up to 1600 parts a day (mostly production gun parts) -They have in house glass bead blasting (very fine oxide grit, can't remember exactly) so no contamination for sure, and they are extremely picky.
As for fit issues, well we machine in house, so can we also control and change the sizes of any fit together parts so the coating wont affect the fit tolerances.

Nice work, the photos look great! Interesting how the plate becomes an external part of the design. I’m not usually a fan of sandwich style boards but this is really clean. Since the plate edge is external My preference would be to cerakote instead of ano to match the case. But maybe a contrast? Might call for a poll... By the way, did I miss info about the typing angle? Also wondering if any info about a PCB?

I'm already in for one! First time I've ever bought anything from Drop and have it ship within 24hrs haha. Now I just need a build for them. I think this board it compliments the MT3 BoW's really well with the way the plate draws a thin black line through the center.

Thanks for the feedback! I added Cerakote vs Anodized plate to the google form. The typing angle is 4 degrees and the PCB is not included.

DZ60 works great, that's the PCB we bought and tested. Also the AN-C-60 from Cannon Keys works. The AN-C60 PCB's usb port was about 1mm to the right, but be have opened out port to solve this problem.

Great, Matt, thanks. Also, I filled out a form (again) and voted for ano. Don’t think I would be disappointed with ano or cerakote but I opted for contrasting finish with the contrasting color. Really needs to be a deep black, IMO, to go with the Stormtrooper theme. So if the ano isn’t a deep black I would switch my vote to cerakote. Hope this isn’t too confusing... like you suggest, it’s a bit of a tough decision.

I'm Actually thinking to offer both Anodize and Cerakote for the plate and let the buyer decide as its 50/50 on the Google Form right now... the Cerakote will be a deeper black than the ano for sure, but the ano will have a more industrial look. The pictures we took were with the anodized plate.

Low volume FCFS seem to be a problem for me... even if I set an alarm I end up away from my computer because real life intervenes. Yeah, I know... keebs are life! I'm just hoping there really is another GB when I invariably miss the bell on 9 Nov.
