I think this is a Model F? Am I right?  If so could be a decent price for one.

Probably. Hope I didn't ruin it for anyone, besides myself that is. Shot up to $20 already.
But I'm sure it will stop there while I decide if I want to bid on it. Don't you think?

Well it hasn't taken off yet, assuming $20 isn't all that's showing of a $500 bid, of course.  Less than this $200 BIN, but then this once doesn't have a cover,.

Guess I could find out pretty quickly by bidding 50 cents or a buck more than where it's currently at ($20).

That cover is not original on the $200 board.  It doesn't add to it's collector value, but if you want a cover it's handy I suppose.

Well, if the keyboard had a cover, that means it won't be dusty.

Assuming the cover was on,.  Looks like it just sits on the keyboard.

I actually made an offer on that when it was first listed, but they weren't ready to come down yet.  Said they might consider it if it didn't sell after a few weeks at that price, so someone might wanna give it another go.  (Since then I've actually ended up with one more of these than I wanted, so I am going to be looking to move one soon also provided I don't mess up the back space mod on the other one and need it to fix an Oops.)  Iirc they had come back with a counter of $175 but weren't willing to match the price I saw at clickeykeyboards, but that was a good month or so back and looks like they haven't had any other nibbles.  They might have softened on their hard line a little by now since it's been sitting so I'd encourage anyone shopping for an AT that it may  be a ripe time for making a (reasonable) offer and see if they'll bite.

Maybe the one sitting at $20 won't go up much more.  But really too early to tell since there are nearly 5 days left on it still.  My luck bringing ebay folks down on price hasn't been all that good at with $200 as a starting point might still be too rich for my blood.  But hey, you'll never get what you don't ask for, right?

right.  Actually reading here really brought that point home to me.  There is an archived thread here that discussed some board that a seller seemed to have a surplus of where they were taking some really low offers compared to the asking.

My own experience had been that I don't know why some sellers even bother with a "best offer" option since I've had offers of 95% of the asking price rejected.  I think they must not understand the concept if the best offer that they will accept is only 25 cents lower than their asking price.  But inspired by what I saw here, I was inspired to offer $40 on an fk-3000 that was offered at $114 and to my surprise it was accepted immediately.

If they are a big seller (as the one with the BIN is - high volume, usually A/V stuff though, not computer) they might not have time to deal with each item individually with attention to detail, so they might not bother to relist at a lower price, but they may certainly be more open to a lower offer than I made since they said they would wait a bit first.  That being said, even at that point they were willing to go down to $175, since they would have been obligated to sell had I accepted that counter-offer, but I had a better one here that I took instead.  PITA I went through before that though to get hold of one of these at first -  I had a much easier time getting my M5-1. Of course, once I finally triumphed I ended up with two since hunny had been shopping for my birthday.  Worse things could happen, I suppose, than having too many model F AT's.  =)

And from what I've seen you can't judge an auction until the last few seconds.  The pro snipers will strike only then and you never know how many are watching.  Do they let you see the page view count on the bottom?  If so you can get an idea of how much attention its drawn even if there aren't bids.  The last few months I've seen them go for about 100 shipped give or take 20 bucks.  If clickeykeyboards was aking 135 plus s/h for used ones with high res pics of innards and outards for consideration,  I don't know where that seller thinks they can get 200 for a used one without at least better pics.  I was wanting one pretty badly and MIGHT have paid the $175 but not unless it was in pristine shape, but Unfortunately couldn't get them to take some better shots for me to judge.

Ended up going for $78.00+$17.95=$95.95.  Guess that is relatively cheap considering what these have been going for, but still out of my range for this item, I just don't want one that badly.  Hope if someone here got it that it works well for them.

Figures.  I was having a ****ens of a time getting one of these - always AFTER I find what I'm looking for do they start popping up all over the market.... Pretty close to what I had expected in price, though, I think Chad got mine for $97 shipped, and the one I won but didn't ever get would have been about $103.  Both of us were lucky on the price tag, but he was a little luckier since he actually got the board while I got a refund.  (Well, I got the board since he got it for me, but you know what I mean, right?)

Even if one is NIB, though - won't it still have issues with the foam disintegrating?  One I have is in pretty good shape though - I don't think it got much use.   It is older than the other one I have but there isn't even any dust. If it is stored in a plastic bag might that prevent it from deteriorating as quickly?  Both feel the same for typing on though - these rock!
