This could be fun for someone wanting to convert a terminal keyboard.

http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-POS-24-Function-Key-Keyboard-P-N-73X3832-/130445786977?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item1e5f2cbf61

the 73X**** terminal boards are reported to be all rubber dome.
If you really wanted to convert this rubber dome "unsaver" board, then by all means do get the board.

I've never had an IBM RD, I assume the 'dome' is molded into the top membrane? In other words, it isn't a membrane just like a BS membrane with the rubber dome portion on top of that.

So, could you theoretically take the guts from a 122-key BS, hack off extra stuff on the right and use this case, membrane and controller?

They're quite different to the buckling spring version. Lowpoly has one, and reviewed one, so there's pics if you search the part number in the Geekhack search engine. It's like a purpose-built rubber dome keyboard that has the same layout as the buckling spring version.

The keyword would be Buckling Spring.  Chopping off a capacitive board would not work.
