A simple BoG/GoB GMK keyset with optional Modi addons.

Background

For years I have wanted a Black on Gray/Gray on Black GMK set with text + icon legends and a colored mod addon kit. It's honestly that simple. 2+ years of dwelling and a couple DM threads with some awesome people in the community later and here I am. Modi is coming back to GMK in two different colorways, and I finally get my dream set into IC.

I'm putting this above the kitting because it's that important. As much as I would love both of these colorways into GB at the same time, I don't know if there is enough demand for both. I ran out of all creative juice trying to choose which shade of black and gray, cut me some slack. This set will highly likely not run with any collabs as the main goal is to keep it simple and get this run.

Kitting Changelog
First Revision

• Darkened renders across the board to try and be more realistic
• Change nav legends to be classic (ie: front print on Prt Sc and Pause)
• Fixed Pg Dn/Up to have space between legends
• Windowed keys in extension kit will be smoke (semi-translucent CR)
• Removed windowed stepped caps lock in Modi kit
• Added doubleshot stepped caps lock
• Added 2x 1.5u Supers to Modi kit
• Added 2x 1u Alts to Modi kit (These were added in post after rendering. They will be properly rendered during the next iteration)

Both colorways exist, gmk dark (CR on N9) and the rare gmk exent (N9 on CR). Isn’t a reason to not rerun.

I had always been interested in a GMK Dark re-run with classic modifiers, so this fills that need.

Filled out the IC form. Would suggest doing classic modifiers (Prt Sc / Sys Rq and Pause / Break) for the base, and also adding stepped Caps Lock in doubleshot form for the modi kits.

I think the kitting is excellent. Good job. You may just want to consider adding a numpad R1 1u = key to the extension kits, and perhaps dropping the second R4 1u Fn (it seems unnecessary since there's already one in base). I would also prefer the stepped Caps Lock in extensions to be non-windowed.

That being said, I'm definitely interested in picking up both modifier kits for combining with other sets.

First off, thank you everyone for the immediate support and feedback on this set. I want to respond to some feedback and responses in the first day of the IC.

• Requests for doubleshot stepped caps in Modi Kit - will likely replace the shinethrough cap with this.
• Requests for OG modifiers - will take a look at these for the next iteration. There were a handful of people who specifically wanted OG nav keys, which I will be exploring.
• Requests for icon mods - I'm sorry, but this set will be staying text + icon.
• (Lack of) Requests for 40% Modi - VERY few people said they wanted 40s support in Modi. At this point I do not see it getting added.
• Requests for 1.5u Supers - Will take a look and see, I want to be pretty lean here though. I see you though, and I am listening.

Gmk Dark rerun is cool, I'll buy both, and nice work on led keys. My concern is that GOB and Cosmos just ran within the last few years and if this will hit MOQ, not to mention all the other black sets like Mitclan and Tribal. Don't care for colored modis.

Thank you again for all the feedback everyone! The first revision renders are live and updated in the OP. Here is a summary of what changed.

Many vendors have reached out, so be on the lookout for a full vendor list next week. It's looking like this set will definitely run, and we're looking into a way to try and run both colorways at the same time given the even support we saw in the IC. Nothing is guaranteed at this point however.

Please continue to provide feedback where you see fit, however I want to mention two specific things that have received VERY little support, and will almost certainly will not make it in.

• There will not be 40s support in the Modi kits
• There will not be a Intl kit for this set, unless the EU/UK vendors specifically want to support it
