Hello everyone, I found someone offering a IBM PC AT Keyboard 1394312.
I´ll try to attach a picture.
But I can´t find any information about that Keyboard. It looks like one of those Keyboards I worked on the AS/400 Terminals many years ago. But they are not PC AT compatible and would be of no use on my current PC.

The seller however claims that this one is working on a current PC. But I´ve never seen a Model F with the AS/400 Terminal Layout...

I still try to find a substitute for my Model F (AT, which I can´t use unfortunately) and my Model M... still searching for something which comes close to the AS/400 Terminal Keyboards. They even had a built in Speaker, but did not work on PCs back in that time.

That's a 122-key terminal keyboard.

It is normally not meant to be used on a PC, but Kishy together with the help of other GH members got it working. See link below.

EDIT: It appears to be a model M instead of an F, if you look at pictures in the 122-key Terminal Keyboard Conversion (to AT, PS/2) you'll see it has a metallic label. This one seems newer.

Yes, it looks more like a Model M. Not only the Sticker, but also the "rounded" edge on top of the F Keys. But maybe that´s just looking different on the Photos.

I still believe that this one will not work on a PC without a Mod. Because the F sounds so sexy I´m always on the search if somewhere somebody sells something who doesn´t know what he´s giving away. But since this one looks like an M and it may not work on the PC, maybe I´ll grab it if it´s cheap or just leave it... continuing my search for a AT compatible F :-)

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I´ll skip this one. I´m running Windows 7 x64 at home and in my Office. And even if I get this running with a cable Mod and another Driver (for up to XP), It won´t do the job for me. And the USB Mod doesn´t seem to be perfect either (although it´s impressive with what you come up!). I don´t even have the talent to solder something properly... so I´m doomed to keep my eyes open for something which is working for me out of the Box :-(

Also it seems like this is sounding and feeling the same like the Modem M I have here. So the search for a Model F working on my PC continues. Man... if I could go back 20 years again... I was surrounded by these things. But the only thing I have from that time is my G80-3000 (still working like a charm and a joy to write on).

the 1394312 is a German/Austrian version of the 3477/3476 class keyboard. The more common US layout equivalent looks to be the 1395660, which is a Model M AS/400 board, and is not PC compatible. See here:

These were all pre-purchase questions. If someone is interested, here´s a link to the ebay Auction. I told the seller, that this thing is not a PC AT Keyboard as he claims and that it won´t work on a PC without mods. But it doesn´t seem like he´s interested in the truth... there are already 4 bids on it.

Edit: He´s writing in a very bad German language, so Google Translate will not work properly.
He´s claiming that he´s a collector (very doubtful) and that the Keyboard is in a "collectors condition". I think we can see clearly in the picture, that this one needs extensive cleaning and that the Spacebar looks a bit "yellow".
He says, that the Keyboard is working 100% (don´t know how he tested it, since he was not aware that this is a Terminal Keyboard and with the RJ-45 plug he was surely not able to plug it into his PC).
He also says that he cleaned it "a bit" and that there´s only some minor dirt left.

Looks more like a free-rider /copycat than a true collector. It would be similar if I sold my Model F XT and claimed that it´s a AT Keyboard. I´m sure if I find at least 2 collectors, the prices would go through the roof ;-)
