[IC] OINN 65 Keyboard

OINN 65%
Hello everyone, I'm Jimmy from Keyboard Science. Today, I'm bringing you the first keyboard from our studio — OINN 65. This keyboard was designed by my friend (hongoo), KBS is responsible for production, manufacturing, and sale.
Vision | Circle & Arc

IC | Form
https://forms.gle/rvaGbx8YcN7VD3GF8

Inspiration | Design
The overall shape and inspiration of the OINN 65 actually comes from a keyboard that was not finished two years ago. The whole is designed based on the position relationship between circles and circles as the starting point, and forms the entire keyboard through arcs and circles.
OIIN 65 is born out of the previous keyboard's understanding of circles and arcs, and added my new ideas about this theme two years later. I have always felt that it is unromantic to describe my design through words, and I hope that the materials prepared this time can let you directly see and read the restraint, composure and elegance that OIIN 65 wants to express.

Structure | Color | Craftsmanship

Structure
In order to improve the user experience, the convenient and easy-to-use quick-release structure runs through the entire keyboard.
In terms of structure, OINN 65 can choose from three structures: TOP, Leaf Spring and Gasket. While considering compatibility, we thought about and designed existing solutions to guarantee the hand feel and sound of different assembly modes.

At the beginning of the design, we put the Top structure in the solution. Combined with my experience and understanding of the use of the Top, and studied many successful cases, after many attempts, we chose to add leaf springs at the position of the fixing screws, and the more tough hand feel will bring you a Top structure experience that you have never had before.

In the original setting, there was actually no elastic Leaf Spring structure, and in subsequent tests, we wanted to make the OINN65 have more hand feel and structure experience.
The special support of leaf springs brings a completely different effect from TOP and Gasket, and the hand feel is more elastic, ensuring comfort and bringing a better sound feedback experience in actual use.
We have also made many attempts in the material selection of leaf springs, and are still testing the most suitable materials, and will update the material selection for you in the future.

As the most mature and well-known solution at present, the Gasket structure is considered to be an indispensable structure for the keyboard.
In addition to the basic positioning plate silicon granules, we have added silicon granules at the four corners, which not only increases the stability of the structure, but also optimizes the internal structure of the entire cavity and reduces the hard contact in the structure, so as to get a cleaner sound and better hand feel experience.

Color

Color defines character. As a keycap brand, out of sensitivity and respect for color, we have specially tuned each color, all colors use individually customized anode color pools.
Returning to the starting point, our dedication to color aims to achieve harmony and balance between the keyboard and the desktop.

Exploration of Special Materials and Surface Finishes

As a long-contact product, we verified and conceived the color, material and surface finishes during the design phase. Our aim is to achieve perfect balance in visual, tactile, and functional between the upper and lower shells and weights made of different materials, so that the keyboard is fun, good-looking, and easy to use.
In the nameplate and back plate, we have added options like Damascus, stainless steel PVD, special color smoke pattern, and carbon fiber texture. Different materials and processes give a variety of combinations.
At the same time, we are constantly exploring the possibilities and processes of new materials. We are still trying to make nameplates and weights with special metals and stones such as jade and obsidian. Positioning plates made of special materials are also being developed and tested.

That is a very beautiful board
The top corner blocker is very nice and well executed but unfortunate, in my opinion
Very weird but interesting USB slot cutout however it's definitely a refresher over the usual rounded rectangle USB cutouts
If possible, can you provide more info about KBS? ty
Very nice good job, if I could I would join GB

Love a good corner blocker. Is there a specific reason you opted for a 1.2mm pcb? (I didn't read every detail so forgive me if I missed it haha)

Split backspace, ISO and split left shift would be welcome options to widen your target audience for no major design changes

In the USB port section, we have incorporated the arc design and also enhanced the compatibility of cables.

KBS isa brand established in 2024. Previously, we mainly produced keycaps. At the end of 2024, we began to produce some artisan and keyboard products. After receiving recognition from our customers, we started to manufacture our own keyboards.

The combination of rich colors and various surface treatment processes is our strength, and most of our products are in stock. If you have more suggestions for oinn65, please fill out the ic form!

We initially conducted a survey on zfrontier, and more players tended to prefer 1.2mm PCBS. However, over the past few days, we have collected feedback from players in more regions. We will add 1.6mm PCBS when using GB and also incorporate iso support.

ISO ?

We will add iso support. I'm very sorry that I forgot to add the pcb image when I posted it.

The first version of the pcb did not set iso compatibility. We are updating the second version, which will also be compatible with 7u space.
