The wine is from Argentina (no idea where the label is from). I would never ever EVER drink a Made in China wine. I did have a Korean wine when I was in Korea. I didn't die, but I didn't live very well either.

Notice how the wine label also says "Will improve age." not "Will improve with age."

I am a bit older than when I drank it, so maybe it worked.

beatles suck. last year when beatles rock band was released i was at a dinner with my fiancee's co-workers friends from work. Now these ppl were just downright nerdy. Who actually talks about ST vs SW at a birthday party? Anyway they were like we got rockband beatles! we need ppl to play! (not us, no thank you).
They found out we played guitar hero, but i'm not playing a whole game of beatles music, no way.

ST vs SW is always a valid topic.  Doesn't matter if it's a 9y old or 99y old birthday party. George Lucas Skywalker got to marysue a lightsaber against a big mean black guy, clearly something Freudian happening here.  Kirk got to nail some hawt green *****es, clearly something Freudian happening here.  Yoda get's to Bruce Lee and kick some serious Sith ass and prove that when you're green size doesn't matter.  Picard got to be bald and "make it so" whatever the **** that means.

New rant: I hate when websites "upgrade" and don't test to see if it's totally ****ed up on older browsers - and there's no way to contact somebody to tell them. (and if you do contact them, they don't care)

Auctiva has been giving me an error like this for about 4 months:
Quote
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=725496&ppid=1122&image=430788972&images=430788927,430788950,430788972,430788995,430789020,430789043,430789071,430789110&formats=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0&format=0
Line Number 41, Column 48:          if (navigator.appName == 'Netscape' && e.which == 3){

The annoying thing is that most eBay sellers now put only one small preview image on eBay and the rest on Auctiva.

No, this is on BeOS (Firefox 2). I'll try spoofing and see if that fixes it.

Ha! I just tested. It works perfectly on Amiga, using IBrowse. (no spoofing)

The bug must be specific to Firefox 2 or something.

My rant is still valid though. There are hundreds of sites full of bugs (only tested on latest browsers) and sites designed to work only on Internet Explorer.

So in the US we address the judge as "your honor", no big deal it's an honor that some kind holds your life in his hands.

But in the UK they go "my lord" talk about servitude.

The "fake" royal family in the UK is no less oppressive than the fake "royal family" celeb ****shots in Hollywood.  People worship OJ Simpson, Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods, and Paris Hilton like they're gods ... and keep giving them money (buy into their movies, books, music, events/awards, and all the other paparazzi ****) ... worship the gods at the Altar every day (TVs are usually set up as the dominating/central prominent theme of a room) ...

If you ask me, that's more oppressive than a monarchy.  It's a self-perpetuating machine which makes people dedicate their effort to installing/maintaing a bunch of bimbo ****s in supersocietal positions.  For what?  A few hours of passive entertainment to replace a few hours of active entertainment?  I don't get it.

Senior judges are often members of the House of Lords (and the House of Lords is the equivalent of the Supreme Court in the UK). I'm pretty sure the lower ranking judges are "Your honor" too.

I had some fun with math today...

If the USA earns more than [strike]$1 quadrillion[/strike] $3 trillion in tax revenue every year, and the so-called "federal deficit" is a mere $1.171 trillion, can anyone tell me why we can't pay this off now? I call "BS" on our government.

(Mandatory + discretionary spending is less than $4 trillion per year)
Edit: based on the above, I guess I answered my own question :(

1 quadrillion? Is that the real figure? How much of that is going to things that can be accounted for?

Good call, there was an error in my math. It's actually more than $3 trillion.
With mandatory + discretionary spending at less than $4 trillion per year, I guess I answered my own question. Something still seems fishy though...

Edit: just realized that if we increased jobs it would increase the middle and upper class, increasing the amount of people paying middle and upper class tax rates. That could easily push the annual tax revenues to an amount that would pay off our deficit.

Only judges of a higher court. In fact, the legal system in the UK represents the monarch rather than the people; in practice it ain't quite like that - the people (through parliament) makes the law. In theory the monarch can withhold royal assent, but it hasn't been since 1708.

I'm not sure why they're 'fake' royals - they hold the crown, and that's about as real as it gets. As to paying for them, that's a widespread bone of contention although income from royal estates goes straight to the government (in exchange for parliament funding the military).

In an abstract sense, the UK isn't free. But the UK people believe they're free and act is if they are free which counts as free - after all you can't be given freedom; you have to take your freedom.
