Double shot replacements ROUND THREE: Vote for Kits & Quantities!
« Reply #1650 on: Mon, 07 March 2011, 11:10:09 »
7-Bit,

Can I just make sure that my order includes the Toolkit as well.  I paid more than $5 extra to say thanks and I noticed that it says that the toolkit might be included free.  I just need to make sure that one comes my way as I dont have any tool to remove they keys when the kit arrives.

Thanks for any help given.

I really should cleanup and update that first post.

It says 'might', so currently it is not for free.

Just sent an update.  I ordered some extra pirate and japanese flags.  If they remain that cheap, everyone should order two so they can have symmetrical modifiers.  I'm also considering the awesomeorange, but not for 15 dollars.  Anyone want to pledge for awesome orange with me?

is you and I are in, 8 more people to reach 15.  Estimating from how other keys are priced, it looks like the break would be 6$ at 15, and 5$ at 20.

LOL.

No!

They will all ship the same day!

OK, maybe not, because iMav would need a truck to get all of them into the post office at once.

7bit: It looks like this won't be anywhere near me by March 31st, lol, so I'm going to want a change of address.. along with that a change of name (sending it to my gf's house as I will be moving end of March, safest bet..)

Do I email (and if so which one) or PM you the new address / name on the package?

thanks.

Sensation!

SP is able to make a full-touch 1.75 unit key with off-center mount for Cherry keyboards!!!

So all those CONTROL and BACK SPACE etc for that ex Caps Lock position will have no step!!!

Don't post off-topic!

To answer your question:

A key with FILCO of Filco or filco is technically possible.

There would be no copyright issues, if we made a Cherry key btw, but Filco could be an issue.

We can alos write Das on a Keyboard key, or Alps. Unicomp will surely write IBM on a key right away and no one will ever notice or complain, except that they could not print it straight on the key.

You can also write Bull or Sun on a key. Don't know if Honeywell would be a problem, written on a wider key.

DEC should be OK and HP can also mean High Point.

But FILCO?

Yep, very unlikely there would come anything, but better to be safe than sorry...

Filco, is registered trademark, so not a good idea to sell it, have you read how under every keyboard there is text about Windows?

I mean, the alphabetical characters are centered (which I do find fugly, but w/e), but the win and menu keys are not ?! :twitch:

This was, what it looked like in Round 1.

This time, everything will be centered, so it looks more symmetric.

Address change sent to PM/email.

So is that what the keys will look like, except all centered?

I wonder why the alphabetical letters are so much bigger.

Address change sent to PM/email.

So is that what the keys will look like, except all centered?

I wonder why the alphabetical letters are so much bigger.

Its supposed to be "Retro".

Don't worry, I'm not mocking you.  I hadn't seen a commodore 64 in years, so I didn't even make the connection until I came across one of these pics.

Interesting that obviously a lot of people did not look at my avatar.

It shows a keyboard with keys from Round 1.

...

Don't believe him! This is not retro!

Retro is the off-center 1985ish style!

This Round 3 style is modern, futuristic, year 2001 style.

It doesn't look bad to me, I quite like it.

I saw your avatar and round 1 pics before too. Was just wondering if there was a reason it was bigger.

It is not retro, its old school.  I think looking at the C64 that subconsciously that is why I liked this set.

What about a C= key or Amiga key.  Now that would be cool.  I vote for a Commodore C= key please.

What say the everyone, better late than never.

Set up a thread, take care of an SVG and off it goes.

I will not take care of that, you must do this, or find someone who does it for you.

Just threw down some votes for the flags...they sound interesting enough to warrant the price :p I didn't feel like searching through the thread to find pictures, though.

So, 7bit, tomorrow is the final invoice? I haven't received one in maybe a week and a half or more...just wondering if tomorrow will be the final invoices, we pay, and they get made/shipped soon-ish?

It will be not quite that way. I will give it a week to collect the money and to leave a bit of time for those lately add kits.

Er... that's what a complete set looks like, 7bit ?
I mean, the alphabetical characters are centered (which I do find fugly, but w/e), but the win and menu keys are not ?! :twitch:

It's quite fun i think, very modern and old school too. It was written in the post one on this thread and the images are threr to show it up.

It's very nice, unusual and makes your keyboard look different.

I am not even sure what you mean, its late and I am tired.  Bugger it, it was just an idea.  Anyone else want to do 'what he said' and help me get a Commodore key?

I recently got a Ducky 9008, and ordered the STANDARD. There's been some talk about the capslock compared to Cherry (which have a dip next to A?). Is there something extra I need to order to have a compatible one? I realize that we won't be able to have the LED window, but other than that issue, is it something I need to worry about?

Read the OP for directions...basically you PM 7bit_vote with your vote (which is your order) and eventually you'll get an invoice via email.

I've already done everything and gotten my invoice including shipping. Nowhere does it say who to pay.
