Double shot replacements ROUND THREE: Vote for Kits & Quantities!
« Reply #950 on: Sat, 19 February 2011, 22:45:05 »
I just want to make clear that I'm not trying to cause any trouble. If I've caused a lot of headaches for someone, I really apologize as my intentions are not to maim.

...I really want those keycaps as much as every other forum member here but I get about 10 emails a day and 3-4 invoices per day each saying different things and differing amounts to pay.

If 7bit, iMav, or someone would just tell me which reputable forum member to send payment to, and stop sending me other forum member's mailing addresses, then that would greatly clear things up! Thanks!!

Please understand that I am just as uncomfortable as you are Mr P (the person's address I posted earlier, I'm sorry for that) because SOMEONE ELSE on this forum, must have gotten my personal mailing address, without my consent, by accident or not.  Because, I too, have replied to the email that sent me the invoice my own personal mailing address. If forum member's mailing address are just freely given out like that, that's not cool.

Edit: Just for the record of putting this straight:
email9@my-mbox.net --> this email has been sending me quantity notification updates, and test invoices
gh_order@goewe.com --> this email address is sending me updated invoices out of the blue...This is the email address I replied to with my personal mailing address, only to be replied back with other member's mailing address.  Like the aforementioned person.

Thanks for help putting this together 7bit, I just want to pay whatever I owe to whoever I owe it to.  I'm not trying to cause any trouble, but privacy is a huge concern with me.  Thanks for understanding

Seems to be a bug in the software. I agree that it's not cool. I'm sure 7bit will address it. Your payment is supposed to go to iMav via paypal (if I'm not mistaken, this is being done to protect the forum members?) Due to the automatic nature of 7bit's software though, you may continue getting emails about votes and such but we all are so I wouldn't worry so much about that.

A bit confused here, I ordered two STANDARD kit, with two spacebars, I thought one spacebar is free with every standard kit, in the invoice, they are not.

So I'm getting 4 spacebars, or they are not free with the standard kit?

seems as though your shipping costs are included in the total contrary to the "Total before shipping" statement

Yeah, I see that, and it's 2x the $5.25 shipping cost is already added in there as one order can only contain 250 pcs and I have 353 pcs.  I see, so $234.50 is my total then.  Hope I got that right....

quite understandable. Be wary who the email senders are.

If uncertain check with IMav or 7bit if the paypal account to send payment is correct. I did so because i'm paying a huge amount so i don't want to pay the wrong person o.O;

For payment details like pricings, 7bit is the man to go to.

I guess 7bit scripted this thing with respect to people who know how to make up their minds. Now we, on the other hand, will keep changing our order until the last possible second :p

As to the paypal thing, if iMav would just come post here confirming the correct payment address would all of you feel much safer?? That's probably the easiest way to do it...

I'm still worried about the whole invoices business. Seems like all of you are wrapping up your orders and sending payment, while manfaux and I are getting multiple invoices with different orders a day :p I don't think I've gotten the same invoice a third time...so many permutations of things I have ordered!!

I will clear all again and try one more time, hopefully it will help!

Again, thanks 7bit and iMav! Don't want to create any undue stress to you guys, just want to make sure I get my keys :p

ya huge props to 7bit, he can take as long as he needs to get this right for all I care, it's just some key caps after all, my life won't deviate from its normal course just because I got my key caps a week later than I wanted.

My paypal address is herzog [at] uhhh [dot] org.  7bit asked me to be the collection point for the funds.

I have not seen one of these final invoices yet myself, so I know not what they say.  But rest assured that your money is safe if/when you send it.

I think most people who wanted blanks are still waiting for their total invoices, I know I am, and I'm not really interested in paying for supplemental sets (like the orange or whiteonblue) if I don't have the rest of the keys to match it.

If all I ordered was a standard set, yeah I would be fairly prompt in my payment.  But as it is, I don't really want just WASD supplement kits unless I can get the blanks I voted for too.

Unfortunately, it seems like 7bit is having a tough time communicating with SP since he hasn't been able to give us an update other than "it might be $1/key! :O".

Fair enough. I myself put off paying for a day because needed to confirm imav's paypal account, also about some of the set details :}

Lets just hope not too much delay.

By the way i ordered a moogle white kit to go with my dye sub keys. And also a colemak kit so i can use for my other keyboard. Colemak keyset in double shot seem damn hard to find :/ (most people seem to be using blanks when they opt for colemak) so this is the best chance for getting these 2 hard to get kits x_x; Oh i also ordered a filco key cap puller because it should be more durable and won't break. Those toy key pullers can break with lots of usage.

PS: not to be push or anything but when will the main thread be up dated with a list off people already paid :D ?

are you talking about the toy key cap puller ?

No no it's not that flimsy.

But it does wear a lot when pulling caps with it. ( i must have used it to remove caps for the whole keyboard at least like 8 or so times before one of the sides broke off) Sometimes it didn't hook properly underneath the cap so i have to press it together to pull outward. It sorta left some small scratch marks at the bottom, but you don't normally see them so didn't bother me much.

The filco keycap puller is some metal wire so less chance it will scratch, also less wear. But can accidentally pull out switch if not careful so i'm told o.O;

Ok nice - I just pmed 7bit to ask him kindly to change the name to REVESECAPS to save us from this confusion (because any layout can have Caps reversed)  and to confirm the pricing - last I heard it was $4/5 (or $2/10) produced. I sent in 2 votes to kick start the thing.

Yeh i also sent in a colemak reverse caps vote to 7bit_vote.

I already paid for the regular colemak backspace key, but i don't mind also getting a reverse cap if it was also offered.

Hopefully the price drops down to 2 USD, but if can't i guess 4 USD is fine as well :X *my wallet getting rather thin *cry*

if the pricing is indeed $4/5 or $2/10, let's all vote for 2 kits, that's 8 kits for 4 of us, I'm willing to pay for 3 or 4 kits to make them 10.

same price, and you have 2 kits instead of 1.

I really want a Moogle kit with matching Enter key, I broke mine, and there's no point ordering a "complement set" when the main set is lacking one piece :(

I asked for a price of in-stock blanks, but did not get a satifieing answer. We've got to wait until Melissa is back in her office:
- I will be out of the office February 17th - 27th with limited access to
email -

The $1 per key is stupid, because she told me a lower price for newly produced blanks before, so I will ask her to give me a price for in-stock blanks lower than that.

BTW: I added the Colemak Caps Lock kit:
Colemak Caps Lock kit ........ $2 / 10 (COLEMAKCAPS)
Colemak Caps Lock kit ........ $2 / 10 (REVERSECAPS)

Because some voted for COLEMAKCAPS and others for REVERSECAPS I included both IDs, but it is the same kit. It konsists of a double-width CAPS LOCK key for the Backspace position.

Sorry again for these problems with invoices.

Because some of you did not yet get an invoice at all, I will send all of them out again, so please don't wonder if you get another one.

great, so I'm in for 2 kits already (REVERSECAPS 1 and COLEMAKCAPS 1)

7bit, if you happen to see this, I want to ask something, but don't want to bother you with a PM.

I vote for STANDARD 2, SPACEGREY 1 and SPACEORANGE 1. Do I get 4 spacebars with 3 in grey and 1 in orange, or just 2?

Because according to the invoice, I'm getting charged for SPACEGREY 1 and SPACEORANGE 1, and one space bar is free per STANDARD set, I believe so...

So the colemak capslock kit i already paid for is basically the reversekit which includes 2 keys (left backspace and a right capslock ) correct ? That is what this picture indicates anyway.

This is getting confusing!!!

So how do these relate to COLMAKBACKSPACE? (which I thought was two backspace keys for the caps position, stepped and unstepped).

That picture's deceiving, REVERSECAPS/COLEMAKCAPS contains only one key. The double-width Capslock:

If you want a Backspace add COLEMAKBACKSPACE, it contains stepped and un-stepped variants.

Hope that clears it up.

I see, so I ordered COLEMAKBACKSPACE AND COLEMAKCAPS, I'll get stepped and un-stepped backspace at the qwerty caps lock position, and double width caps lock at qwerty backspace position? makes sense...

Could you update the original post so it's clear on what can be ordered?  I'm interested but confused and though I could read all 70 pages of the thread it would be nice if the first post had everything that mattered.

I'd like to get the extra keys (trollface, escape character, keyboard, awesome and ಠ_ಠ ) but not clear if they can be bought separately or if a set is required, also whether more than one of them is available.

Kudos for putting the order together!

You don't need to buy a set; you just PM 7bit_vote with votes for what you want (your vote is your order) and the quantity. It's all in the OP.

This invoice was *almost* right!! I just sent the votes in to correct it (+1 MOOGLEWHITE, -1 STANDARD). Hopefully the next one is right and I can send in payment :)

I'm assuming we'll be receiving the invoices for the BLANKS when Melissa is back in the office?

I have a question: what if after we pay subsequent votes for the sets we bought actually end up bringing down the price per set for that particular set (like the moogle sets)? Will we be reimbursed and if so, how?

I have the same question!

Just got a new invoice at 10 AM EST, I got:

Code: [Select]
Order-ID |Description                    |Price|Qty|  Pcs|Total
ORANGE   |Gamer kit                      |    9|  1|27.00| 9.00
ESCAPERED|Escape key                     |  3.5|  1| 1.00| 3.50
SPACEGREY|Space (6.25 u;118;Filco/Cherry)|    2|  1| 1.00| 2.00
Total    |                               |     |   |29.00|14.50

Your order contains 29 pieces.
Please notice, that up to around 250 pieces can be shipped in one box.

Total including shipping: $14.50

I don't think that's right, should've been Total WITHOUT shipping right? (another $5.25 to USA.)

everthing else is good, address and order are both correct on this one.
