Need to convince some of them, to get this one...

I meant someone must ask around for those Filco key pullers!

Otherwise we will have to use phone wires or what you guys use ...

So, you need a source for them because SP doesn't make them?  Do they make a generic wire cap puller?

We need a proper SVG file for the Union Jack.

Only the black stuff, the one I've got does not work!

We need the black part. The white part must be transparent!

Thanks!

I just noticed that the NORDIC plus DE SE AT etc set only
totals 18 ordered sets ..  Does that make them more expensive, seems
like the price is based on 20 sets minimum ?

If it does make them more expensive
I'll take 2 sets more so we get the lowest possible price..

I am slightly worried that I will miss the 75% payment deadline as I have only recently sent my address in a reply to the invoice and am yet to get a response.

Is this a big deal or will it be OK as long as I pay 100% by the 100% payment deadline?

Also, are the prices now final?

If you have invoice, you do have the amount for caps atleast(or doesn't it have iMav's paypal). So I belive you can leave some room in and pay the main part.

Hmm, those dead-keys are bit messed up, on my Filco it seems singel quote and acute accent is same.
Not that it realy matters:
Grave Accent (U+0060)
Acute Accent (U+00B4)

Would be the real unicode names for them and apostrophe for ' (U+0027) if someone realy cared ;D

In XKbd they are called 'grave' and 'apostrophe'.

In RFC 20 they are called Grave Accent (Opening Single Quotation Mark)
and Apostrophe (Closing Single Quotation Mark Acute Accent).

I don't think they will need more than a few days(max) to make those keys.
Assuming they are just sitting there twiddling their thumbs until the order gets in.

I did not yet send the order off. I think they will start somewhere next week.

Currently, I'm waiting for an SVG for the Union Jack key.

ps: It will be more than 40k keys!

Biggest issue is the handling of payments,  collection done by separated person, which adds bit too many delays...

If 7bit had handled payments I dare say that more money would be lost to paypal fees and currency conversion fees. For example if I pay 7bit from the UK my payment is converted from GBP to euros then when he pays SP there's another conversion from euro to USD. I like that 7bit organised the buy as I doubt anyone else would have given us the number of options we have had. Obviously the ideal would have been for 7bit to emigrate to the US!

Yeah, I think it's awfully selfish of 7bit to not have moved to the US! Not only that, but reducing the price of items people already paid for?!?!?!?

What a selfish bastard!

Geekhack buying Signature Plastics?

Doubleshot of the month club?

Yes, please.

Also, it stays in the US. We'll just ship them by the container load instead. Sure it'll take a number of weeks, and you guys will have to order a few thousand sets at a time, but hey! It's cheaper...

There's also non-trackable delivery methods.

I'm surprised that there's no big shops in Taiwan that can do this... shipping is damn cheap there. HK post must be, as DealExtreme sells me a bluetooth dongle for 89 cents and ships it for free, and STILL makes a profit somehow...

I think after this group buy it might be a good idea to try and setup a small group buy every month for double shots from SP, maybe get a couple people who enjoy doing the organizing and rotate them, that way we arent trying to squeeze so much stuff into these huge orders and people wouldnt be rushed to buy everything they possibly can because they dont know when the next chance would be.

I am thinking though that to really like organizing a group buy every month like this for us nerds you would almost have to be a masochist or maybe we could just add a few pennies on for each key that would go to the organizer as incentive.  Any thoughts?

I will send off the order today.

It is still possible to order more stuff with the guarantee to get it, until around 19:00 GMT.

I will order a bit more of most of the kits.

So after I placed the order, you can only choose from what is left!

I expect to receive an invoice on Monday or Tuesday.

Prices will drop a bit and might drop a bit more!

Good idea, thing is though. I use colemak, and I am from the UK/ISO keyboard (this obviously applies to other localization keyboards) so I need fellow colemakians as well as UK people to vote to reduce the price. If you do it frequently, I don't think we will able to get localization people to vote at the same time and I won't get my keys, or I will but they would be very expensive and not worth it economically!

So I say a yearly one is good for a full keyboard set. And every month I think would be a good idea for the optional extras (such as those million one-off keys/designs/novelty stuff etc.).

7bit will have updated payment information later today.  Since I am collecting the money, he has to rely on the updated information I glean from my paypal account and send to him.

So, give me a few hours and we should have everything updated this afternoon (US/Central).

So we shouldn't do the once a month or maybe even 2-3 times yearly thing because the couple people ordering colemaks will have to pay more, maybe I am misunderstanding?

I for one, will surely not buy 12 full key sets per year o_o
Most won't, so don't worry on missing out on stuff. But this is GH after all, so I might be completely wrong!

Also, anything outside of ANSI is a pain in the ass when it comes to customization. Maybe consider switching back from colemak.

Just wanted to update my order but have a quick question (that may have been answered already but...169 pages and all). If I have a Filco full size what type of spacebar do I want? It has windows keys so, from the description, SPACENEW?

? Thats what I used and from looking at the order numbers the majority of people did

Ya I hear what your saying, it probly wont matter though as once these do ship you are  going to be seeing them popping up on the classifieds alot I bet so shouldnt be too hard to obtain one after.

Yeah that's what confusing to me. The description doesn't make sense to me. Filco's have Windows keys, the item description says get SPACENEW for keyboards that have Windows keys.

So we shouldn't do the once a month or maybe even 2-3 times yearly thing because the couple people ordering colemaks will have to pay more, maybe I am misunderstanding?

It is not only UK and Colemak, but also Dvorak, MacOS, Windows, Linux, Starcraft, Cherry Vintage key caps fetishists, and many more ...

You are going to have to be more clear.  What bug are you referring to?

An updated list was emailed to you about 5 minutes ago.  You'll want to look it over as there are some entried from users that did not include their order ID.

Additionally (FYI to all of you), I refunded several payments due to the fact that there was NO information associated with the payment (no GH username and no order ID).  That info NEEDS to be associated with your payment!!!!

sry, paypal resets the message after you change your paypent method. I have no clue why. I resent it with the correct information though.
