SO, I've come to the conclusion that she must be racist. Thoughts?
I'd say you're thoroughly biased. You'd be surprised at how judgement of music tends to vary, especially between men and women. You'll find plenty of acts which are popular with one gender but not at all with the other (up to being considered embarrassing). The Youtube stats for target groups (when available) give hints already. In this case it's mainly young girls / women and middle-aged men. Reasons should be more or less obvious when applying a bit of common sense.

OK, so we've had our share of cute here. For a new twist on this thread, what about energetic, always cutting edge and notoriously unafraid?
Or what about just rocking out?
(How much do you think this has been sped up? One semitone down sounds quite reasonable, but I am just about tone deaf.)
This, of course, inspired others...
I must say I don't get J-Pop and K-Pop. Commonly sounds cheesy and/or like teen music inspired by - *shudder* - '90s Eurotrash. (The real good stuff I wouldn't be able to understand anyway, I guess.) The Japanese seem to be leading in terms of very very experimental noisy stuff, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for either (maximum entropy is not a criterion).
In terms of singing ladies from Asia, this one born in Hong Kong is about all I can offer:
...though admittedly she has more to do with the UK indie scene than anything else. Whatever.
