I've just noticed these nice Aluminium keycaps on Taobao.

I'm sure Michael will help to get these.
He charges 5% of the item cost as commission, though commission must be a minimum of $5.

The price is approximately 8,5$/keycap.

I don't know if I'd be able to resist ordering an etched set of these if they were available.

Keycaps must be loose or something. There is glue/silicone on the brown stem.

I thought it was a miniature spiderman web o_O

Btw, doesn't this give an annoying cold feeling when typing on?

Edit: and i can imagine it changing the attenuation force also. because of the weight.

I do not approve of mystery goo on my stem.

I thought it was just a tiny bit of saran wrap to help hold the key in place?

if you go to the page from the OP, it looks like instructions for installing them using scissors and clear tape... I'm assuming that's a bit of adhesive scraped off of the back of scotch tape, but it's more fun to pretend it's dirty asian bukkake sauce.

Need printed versions of these in 103/104 kits to fit Topre switches.  Then a Realforce could be even more expensive.

the strip of tape is there to avoid the metal directly having contact with the plastic. apparently in testing the stem slowly got grinded down from the metal having direct contact with the plastic stem.

I would be curious how these would feel if they covered the typing area of a keyboard.  Aluminium is light, but not plastic light.  I have a feeling that there would be a counterweight effect on the acutation force.  Maybe more so with those titanium caps.

Perhaps they would be a clever way to make a lower net actuation force switch?
