There was a model of steel board that I found with an actuation force that exceeded 120grams.  If anyone finds one with reasonable typing force, I would be interested, but as it stands, I'm pretty skeptical of usability.

It could be the basis for adolescent pain tolerance contests, who can type on a 150gram steel keyboard the longest without crying?

Ooo or for hazing the new guy at the office, see how long they try to use it before complaining.

The internet terminals at Abu Dhabi airport have those... Typing on one is definitely an exercise in patience.

That first one reminds me of the KB's on the Target gift registry kiosks (6+ years ago anyway.)  Typing on that made me think of the DHD's (Dial Home Devices) in "Stargate".  *chunk* *chunk* *chunk*  It was painful to type on.

Sadly, I have used something like the first one years ago on the terminals at the Employment Office ... which is not something that I would like to do very often. I seem to recall them feeling like rubber domes, and unstable. Like rubber chiclet keys with metal on top.
